Anyone have a good idea as the difference between these two industry shows? Any preferences?

PRI is the big one.. If it is an either or, go to PRI. I have never been to IMIS, but those who I have talked that have been to both have told me the PRI has more people there etc

In terms of scale PRI is way bigger. Back in the day PRI used to be in Indianapolis but they outgrew the convention center and didn't return when they expanded it. Even though it's bigger now, still might not be big enough for the PRI show. The thing about IMIS is that more of the smaller guys and they let drivers in with no additional docs required. If you were a dirt circle track or sprint/midget racers or even drags IMIS might be a better fit but if you're into club sports car racing I'd say PRI.

It should be mentioned that these are business-to-business conferences, not shows for casual attendance. These folks are hoping to take orders.

Just spent the day at PRI. Most vendors chose PRI over IMIS last year when budgets took a hit. Not just B2B, great place to get info from Hoosier, Hawk, look at all of the B spec cars, etc.
