Have a 2000 SE that makes a wobble or wah-wah-wah noise as the speed increases(rear of car). You don't hear it until after 15-20mph but it gets progressively louder with speed...and follows the speed curve(rotational). When I put it on jack stands and let it run in 4th at 40mph I don't really hear it. So I'm assuming diff or wheel bearing...but I get no heat build up anywhere noticeable. Can a driveshaft or axle create this(very obvious noise!). Help!!! before I tear everything apart anyone have a similar situation??

Does it go away or lessen when the brakes are applied? Front hub.

The sound seems to come from the rear when in the car? I will check the fronts.

Does it make the noise out of gear, and/or coasting in gear? Any vibration in the car, or just noise? High pitch or low?

Had 2 NB uprights with axles. Popped out the ones in question and popped in these...BINGO...no noise Now I'm going to have to fix the bearings in one or both of these before I sell them.
Thanks guys!
