the fuel pump wont pressurize except for in diagnostic mode which than 2 relays click and the pump is than working. any ideas what might be the first attempt at solving this?

Bad fuel pump relay - it's under the dash left side of the steering column. Jumping the Grnd/FuelPump in the diagnostic port bypasses the relay and allows the pump to run as soon as the ignition switch is on. Had to run an entire race weekend this way because the relay isn't an easy thing to get to for an old fart.

You will need to replace that relay. It's called the circuit opening relay.
I switched the F/P and GND in the cockpit in case mine went out at a race w/e.

I can try to replace the relay but I have it down from under the dash and was holding it in diagnostic mode and felt it click. It just wont click when not in diagnostic mode.
