We just recieved a Transmission for my partners car and it seems the PPF bolts sit farther back on the transmission that on the 1993 transmission. Is this normal? We have asked 2 other sources and they have said it bolts right up but i just dont see how its possible when the transmission mount to the PPF is almost 1.5 inches farther back.

Please enlighten if possible...

Thanks

the 1999 transmission is on the left. (FYI) we already have a 1999 Torsion, Driveshaft and axles on the car

Will bolt right up. Switch your speedo and other wiring from your 93 if you want those things to work.

you will need the 99 shifter as well.from the looks in the picture unless the 99 trans is sitting on something there is a problem.you might want to check and see if it has 6 speeds instead of 5.there should be no difference in the mounting locations for the ppf

I have a 99 in my 90, went right in. Observation from the picture. There is a dimensional difference between the extension housing & the intermediate housing.

I agree with Joe. Looks like your NA box is just an empty case, but the bearing plate is missing. This would raise the tailshaft and allow everything to line up

Duhhhh!
Makes all the sence guys. The tranny we put it next to already had the guts out hence the missing plate. Just checked it against another and its exactly the same as the 99. I guess we were just jumping the gun a bit thinking we needed another PPF or something. It was really late that night! LOL!

Thanks for looking!

Back at it again tonight, we will be tearing down the 1999 transmissions.
