I wonder how badly we are going to get our butts kicked in the 99's after the rule change. I have ordered they new plate and hope to go to the dyno with it but my sprites are not to high at the moment. I am not even sure I am going to be able to take advantage of the new min weight without losing a little weight myself.

I sure would like to see the dyno sheets they used and the math used to come up with at 37 mm restrictor plate. I thought I had made a pretty good decision last year to build a 99 in light of how they were performing. Not feeling it this year. If I get my clock cleaned as badly as I think it will be, Its going to be hard for me to give my money to chase tail lights. SCCA is getting more interesting.

No testing will be shown, I do not like it myself but apparently John Mueller is a man of his word and I do like that! Post up your data when you are done Frank, that should be interesting plus some others will be posting actual race data from Infinion raceway! I look forward to seeing the DATA from you and others!

OMG, they’re not going to have the RP’s ready for Texas. Any other events before Infineon?
I'll be the first to experience the power and performance of the all new redesigned 1999 NASA SM. This is truly an honor and a privilege to be lucky enough to have the RP’s done in time for this.

I’ll be sure to report back the thrill and excitement from such an incredible combination of design tweaks, that will make my racing experience just that much better, that only could have been done by NASA.

No I don’t work in marketing.

I will be coaching a couple of drivers in 99's this coming weekend at Houston. I am pretty familiar with lap times at that track in the 99's and may even get to do a back to back (old spec vs. new). I have a feeling that the difference will be a lot less then everyone is anticipating! Stay tuned for the results :)

Kuch, does that mean you can just stay home on those SCCA weekends? I will feel alot more secure knowing that some guy fresh out of the asylum wont be dive bombing me down into turn 7 a few times a race cause he has all that low power and its the only way he can stay in contention! :rolleyes:

Can't wait till the first SCCA weekend now more than ever! See you there Kuch!

I'm in for the first NASA event at Mid Ohio in April and may run NASA Road Atlanta in March. But after that, for me it's a mix of NASA and SCCA. Tell the truth guys, we're track ho's and we'll race where we can. All that aside, it's nice to see the funny season is operating as per normal ... i.e. gripe about rules changes. As I recall last year it was the NA drivers' turn to whine.

As you were. Carry on!

Hi Eric,

Since we will not be using the new 99 ruleset at this weekends race I'm assuming you will be testing on Friday. I'm with you, the lower weight will offset some of the lost power but not all of it. In terms of lap time I don't think it will make a BIG difference. Driver skill and car prep will win the race no matter which car you are in.

it would be nice if you guys had some data logger results we could use for compressions vs. just lap times, if that is possible.

Hey Glenn,I have some new speakers and amp so it should sound alot better this year.You know I have to be smart with my money and spend it on the items that should give me a little more power.Hell with all that dyno time it's over rated,the secret is in the sound system! :lol: :lol:

Kuch I had more fun in those WOR games races than I did the rest of the year combined! It was awesome racing with you, and even more awesome we both had agreed to not blocking each other at all made for a lot more fun! I hope I still remeber those braking skills you thought me for this time! :unsure:

Unfortunatly at NASA I plan to run PTE with the new rules, my plans include all the SCCA MO races this year so right there thats 4 weekends to race against you and other SCCA guys! :(

Glad to hear about the new speakers and amp you got so if you turn it up real loud I will stay right in your draft so I can listen as well! Till the last lap that is! B)

I don't see any issue here either. :rolleyes:

In all seriousness, for several years, I've watched 99's brake later, accelerate off corners faster and absorb bumps better than my NA car. I will need to see if this slows the late cars' times below the NA, of it it simply evens the playing field. I suspect the latter.
