If you race Spec Miata, then you get it. If you dont race Spec Miata, this video should convince you to build, buy or rent a car and come and have some fun with us. You don't know what you are missing

This was Sunday's Race 2 at the 2012 Daytona Double SARRC. There were two full course yellows and of course, two restarts that brought the whole field close together. That makes for some intense wheel-to-wheel, bumper-to-bumper racing, three wide into turns, a huge passes on the outside going into T1, some absolute craziness in the bus stop, and some amazing frieght trains that left me hung out to dry - TWICE (you would think I would learn after the first one!)

And just in case you are not sure of how much sure how much bump drafting works, just take a look at the segment from 8:00 to 9:30 and the segment at the finish 18:50 onwards - You'll understand!!!!

I just watched the video with some time to watch... Never had any desire to do that track. Sandlin convinced me in 08, it was a blast, would love to go back again. The video doesnt do the banking justice, it feels like it is 90 degrees

For the record, I counted 21 , there were two or three rapid fire of four in a quick burst on same straight..

Drago - while there may have been 21 , what you didn't hear was

• at 8:30 - "Tom - wasn't me - I swear never touched anyone - they just all drove off in front of me", followed by hysterical laughing.... only to be followed by
• at 9:04 - " Seriously - I cant believe this is happening - 1st to 10th in 300 yards, Are you kidding me?" ... followed by more hysterical laughing, and then again
• at 19:16 - " Tom. I got this.... oh sh!t, no I dont!. Didn't see that coming" and more laughing across the finish line

But the most unexpected laugh of all was Tom texting me at 5:00pm today (Monday) saying I actually won the race!!!!! Did not see that one coming, thats for sure.

Apparently Selin was DQ'd for contact with Tom Burt, and Jamie and Matt got moved back 2 positions for some infraction at one of the restarts I suspect.

Cannot remember having so much fun at a race!!!

I was waiting expectantly for someone to post a video from this race. I was working as a volunteer, but as always, I dropped what I was doing and picked out a spot to watch the SM race from.

From the infield bleachers at the horseshoe, it was pretty obvious big things were going to happen as you guys dropped down into the bus stop on lap four. We couldn't see down that low, but we could tell something had happened, as on exit, everyone was strung out and the order was completely shuffled... yet everyone was still accounted for. Good to see it from your perspective.

One of the best SM races I've watched. Good fun for the spectators.

Danny here is another one you didn't see coming! You will be moved back to at least 2nd as Selin has appealed his DQ as he never made contact with Tom Burt. Why Tom Burt through paper I have no idea but I had a very clear video of the incident from my car and I have no doubt that Selin will be moved back to first. They moved Vanvurst and myself back two spots for jumping the restart; not sure if that was true or not but I really didn't care enough to argue my point.

We were all just happy to survive!! I am not sure how the SOM came to the conclusion that Selin should have been Dqed but I hope they do the right thing and reverse it after seeing the video.

Matt - that was frikkin awesome - wasn't sure if you would pull off the late braking maneuver, or end up in the kitty litter on the exit, but you pulled it off and kept it tight!
