Chief Steward said decision will be made tomorrow at the deadline of online registration. Its looking good for us to have our own race group, but I am having slight doubts.

Online registration closes at 5pm today and we are at 20 entries. Looking good for our own group. Even the ITC and ITB guys are complaining to the chief steward to give us our own group.

Fun weekend. Charlie Campbell completely obliterated the track record with four consecutive laps under the old record finally clocking in at 1:16.1 besting it by .7 seconds and a full 1.5 seconds faster than anyone else including me (1:17.6 my personal best). Thanks Saul S!

I would like to be the first to Congratulate John Guthrie on his GL regional SM title (Unnoficial Title at the moment because the points have not been posted). He probably has no earthly idea he has won, as upon leaving he was congratulating me for winning the title. Little did either of us know that only the best 7 races would count for points total, and not our true totals. What a good sport John was about the event.

I havfe to say thanks to AJ hot Rod erick for the great coaching he did with me on practice day, the tips Charlie Campbell was willing to share with me about the tracks, the great clean racing that eveyone did, got to meet some new peeps.

What sucked about the event is there was Zero tech, and I mean Zero... How do you have an event with a huge impact on the regional title and have Zero tech? To me that is just not right...

I can say without reservation that John and I ran 100% legal I even ran 13 pounds heavy just in case they may decide to actually give a s-hit and put us on the scales. But every finishing possition of every driver has an effect on the championship, it should be scrutinized better than any other regional event all year. Without assurances from the region that there will be Real Tech at this event I will not run it again.

Way to go John, you have made it through a lot f adversity this season you deserved this championship!

Name a GL regional that had any tech this year. Since they were all points races then one could argue that they all had an impact. Next time ask the CS to tech whatever in impound.

Way to go John G.!

IMO, none of the other events have real tech either, and that includes the National. They do atleast take weight at the other events. I think the biggest hinderance to our class is No Tech, people join our class, hget their ass's kicked and decide its because everyone is cheating, so some start cheating, other do nothing, and yet others quit. This needs to get fixed! I think you will start to see that change in OVR races in the future. Hopefully the other regions will improve on this as well.

I hope that is going to change, I am on the GLD champ board and am also going to volunteer for the OVR race committee, one of the things I think we need to do to give the Champ series credibility is to have some degree of tech at each event. However, we just cannot complain and demand more tech, we have to come up with man power and solutions to address the problem.

I am not suggesting that is what Kyle is doing, he and I have discussed this several times, and with Officials, that we need to be more hands on.

For example, the IT spectacular has become a huge event, folks from all over the country are coming to this race. We had some questionable, compliance issues this year which were resolved by way of "angry mob".

It was fixed but that is not the preferable what to fix it.

Anyway, will be looking for help and solutions to pick up our regional game for 2013.

PS. Congrats to John on the champ series, if that is how it shakes out. Kyle and John both did a good job of clean competitive but aggressive racing .

I think a more accurate description of what happened at the IT Spectacular was a group of knowledgeable racers confronted a questionable compliance issue and threatened to become an "angry mob" (and throw paper) if issues didn't get fixed. The racer got the message so there was no "angry mob" (or thrown paper). Group diplomacy at its finest. :bash:
