It is that time of the year. :scratchchin:

This engine was a 1990 1.6L with non-cleaned parts. Have others had similar experiences when weighing OEM parts taken out of an OEM assembled engine?

An electronic scale with 0.1 gram resolution was used.

Pistons ( no rings and not clean)
268.1 267.8 269.9 271.0
271 – 267.8 = 3.2/271 = 1.2%

Con Rods (w/ bearings and rod nuts)
571.0 571.1 571.7 571.4 571.7 – 571.0 = .7/571.7 = .1%

Piston Pins
85.6 85.7 85.6 85.6 85.7 – 85.6 = .1/85.7 = .1%

Pretty tight on the cons. Pulling a pretty good group there.
