I can assure you we will be well over the 62 car limit. Not sure how many we can get with a waiver? It didn't cut and past well so here.

62 plus 10% max with a waiver by the CS.
Everyone qualified gets a chance to qualify...the class gets split. Those that don't qualify in the top 62+10% go home..
Requirement 3 in the regional case:
"AND finish in the top 50% of the points in class"
How is this interpreted? The max points in SFR are 50 for SM. So does that mean 25 points and above? Or in the top 50% of the cars receiving points?
Does this mean top 50% for each race separately? Or are they referring to a points total for the six required races?

If it is counted the same way as national points.. Your yearly points total needs to be in the top half of all that have scored points. Obviously confirm that.

Top 50% of all the drivers that have participated. The cars that participated and did not score points are counted. This year there are 350 cars that have entered in SM, so if you score as many points as the 175th place car, you have enough points. For 2013 it was 10 points. http://scca.cdn.race...tional-0906.pdf

That's interesting..
I was thinking what Jim said, but regionally. Top 50% in Region.
But it's regional points counted Nationally or both in diffferent ways?

If you didn't read the link.
The SFR board negotiated for a fourth alternative. We wanted our Regional racers, who have been supporting the region for years, to have a path to the Runoffs that did not require more time away from work and family, long tows and big gas bills. With the support of the SCCA National Office and National Board of Directors, the following option was adopted for 2014 only:
1. Participate in 4 weekends (start a race)
2. AND finish 6 races
3. AND finish in the top 50% of the points in class
4. Runoffs invitations earned through this additional path are subject to space availability in each class (not group). Drivers who qualify using options 1-3 will have priority registration. Laguna Seca allows 62 cars so highly-subscribed classes may reach capacity but not one had 62 at the 1st year at Road America in 2009. Remember each class has their own standalone race so no multi-class groups sharing the track.
I believe there will need to be a A and B main. With X amount of drivers coming out of the B main to race the A main.
.
I could be wrong but presumed attendance at LS may be optimistic.

I agree--- I think it could swing either way easily.. My point is to plan for both---There is lots of time and it can easily be spelled out with some planning.
