A race car. That means a full, wheel to wheel race prepped car. Cage, net, fire system, full fire suit and gear for driver, HNRS, master power cut off. The works.
Find out more here: SuperMiata Rules & Regulations | SuperMiata – Miata Challenge

Can I bring my 120whp-ish SM?
You bet. It will be a bit down on power compared to a 140whp SuperMiata on the Spec Maxxis RC-1's but you should be competitive if you are on RR's or Hoosiers. See rules link above for what constitutes a SuperMiata. If you want to use up last years R888's or RA-1's, pull the restrictor and ballast. The SuperMiata spec tire is the Maxxis RC-1 (100tw). It's a 5/32 slick pattern, a bit faster than an RA-1 and lasts about as long. Racer price is $109 for drivers entered in en event. Contact me through our facebook group or email 949 Racing for more info on purchasing RC-1's.

How do I register?
Register here

Will my existing SCCA, BMWCCA, POC or NASA comp license be recognized by SuperMiata?
Current license, you bet.

How much track time?
More than with any other organization. Usually 1:40 per day over 5 sessions.

What laps times are the SuperMiatas running?

The front runners are typically running 1-2s under SM lap records

What are the prizes?
Close, hard racing with several national championship winning drivers in very well set up cars. Eternal glory. Not much in the way of cash. Plenty of tasty beverages.

Not ready to race yet?
Speed ventures also hosts the Miata Challenge time trial series. Open to any street legal or race car. Classes for any level of prep. Just a roll bar and you're set.

Emilio Cervantes

William will also be doing some lead-follow coaching. Something new we're trying out. Coach and new driver linked on radio. Many SM drivers already have radios. For those that don't, we set up a team loaner radio and helmet setup. Drivers can also purchase their own permanent helmet kit ($$) or light duty helmet kit ($) to plug int our radio. Samspon Racing Radios has the kits to work withg our Y4 Vertex radios/IMSA plugs

Thanks Sonny for posting. Emilio was an easy guess but had no idea on you. I know your name from events you've attended up north.
Johnny is 0-2 in guessing why I post things recently...I was just curious who was offering up coaching.

I am, so is Emilio. Don't know if anyone else.

There will lead-follow as well as in-car training if there is a passenger seat.
