Thanks once again everyone,

Good advice on renting a car to assure the weekend goes smoothly, I will give them a call to check prices. I am planning on DC if possible, Daytona as a back up.  I will be printing my Dr slip tomorrow and applying for a novice permit as well; getting my ducks lined up!

Jay, good to hear from you, I hope all is well up north.

Bruce, finally a first name.  Being your planning on the DC school I presume you have navigated the SCCA site. Licenses, Spec Miats rules, General Competition rules and lots of stuff that will sharpen you up for the school are within. Check with Mike Collins on this site about the knowledge requirements required to make it through the DC school.

Bruce, finally a first name.

That kills my theory that he was Barry Marshall, the 2005 Nobel Prize laureate in Physiology.

Also, another option for crew is to ask an experienced club racer to be your crew for the weekend. I did this, paying for their lodging and meals (but no alcohol, which is another grand idea for school weekend).

RG,

I am getting a physical today and applying for my Novice Permit as well.  Later heading to Moorsville NC to try on some safety gear. I have already lined up trackside support with Mike Collins, not sure what else I may need to be ready for my ' big day'?  I'll be taking my own (new) car as Mike is familiar with it and says it's good to go.

Maybe I'll try Daytona for a race weekend also, it would be very cool to see and race on the track.

Hey Bruce,

Glad to have you in the sport. Race Engineering is just up the road in Salisbury, NC. Would love to have you up to the shop to hang out some time and talk about the program. Again glad to see another racer join the ranks!

If there is anything we can help with please do not hesitate to give me a call!

Thanks for the invite Chris,

I'll shoot you an email sometime soon and definitely make the drive up and check out your shop and meet a few folks.
