I have been told by Mazda that the exhaust bracket part number B690-40-080A is no longer available. This is the bracket that mounts to the trans and the clamp from the down pipe bolts to. If you do not run this bracket you risk having the down pipe or the header cracking. I have had a lot of cars come into the shop without this bracket. I would recommend not removing this bracket and throwing it away. Or at a minimum keep it in your spare parts box. Per the rules it would not be legal to remove it.

If there is a need I can tool up an exact replacement part.
