Better go check...
"Sources claim the plane landed on Diego Garcia, was refueled, dead passengers “disembarked†and was moved elsewhere?"

As Drago said, bad $hit happens. You $hit ^ is senseless.

1st fly by wire, hmm

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
1st fly by wire, hmm
Did you see this^. That's what I'm doing.

As an ATC in Chicago, I fly the BS flag
So what part is BS beside the 911 stuff ?
Diego is a real place in the right area.
777 flys by wire.
Haven't checked out the ARES yet.

conspiracy theorists . Some times bad shit just happens, there is no cover up, no black helicopters.. just crazy people in this world!
But it has to be true, you read it on the internet.

The part where the CIA can take control of a fly by wire aircraft. The article says the plane has fly by wire. It doesn't say what fly by wire is. Do you know what fly by wire is? Did you know there are many current automobile models with fly by wire throttles? Do you know how they work? Maybe you should add a layer to your tin foil hat.

I agree the possibility of the CIA is remote, but could be possible. That's all the BS ?

Your right!! the CIA is complete BS, it's the British !!

Wings, flaps, landing, gear, etc was actuated with hydraulics and mechanical cable systems until the 777. "Fly by wire" simply meant those systems were replaced with electronic actuators. The electronics usually has several layers and backup in the event of failure. Statistically, electronics are much more reliable than mechanical systems. That being said, I'm not sure I like a fully electronic steering setup.
Anyway, once you convert to electronics the possibility for remote control is there just like GM's OnStar. They can shut your engine down while you drive. Police have utilized it to disable a car fleeing a crime scene.

Fly by wire only works if they are close enough, and the controls have been "switched" over to fly by wire (Navy has had this for a long time on aircraft carriers)...you don't have an "unrestricted" range. Now, IF they switch it over, it is, I believe, only switchable in this case to turn on the autopilot. It's pretty hard to control an aircraft "by remote" with no camera, no instruments, and no idea where said airplane is. You generally have to physically SEE the aircraft to fly it by remote. Yes, all this technology exists, but not NEARLY to the extent that this article claims...
I'll milk this for all it worth.
Why couldn't they fly it on instruments?
And if they are sending/receiving info via satellite, why not the controls ?
What's the range of a drone?
Just asking.
And thanks for the info Tracy.
Here's what really happened: Instead of doing their job of flying the plane the pilots were engaged in pointless internet arguments and crashed. And they turned off the navigation because it was f'ing up Candy Crush.
Drones are a special case set up to be flown remotely...cameras, instruments that broadcast EVERYTHING...much like flying a sim. And drones are flown via satellite, or when close, via remote...so range is really no constriction. B777's, or any commercial A/C for that matter don't have that kind of "broadcast" capability. So any remote pilot wouldn't have access to those instruments, let alone throttle control, flaps, etc. And considering that they had switched off the transponders of the A/C (Both Mode C, and ADS- there was no "tracking" of the plane, so no idea of position, altitude, heading etc...
BTW, Mode C is today's common technology and works off of land based radar. ADS-B is the new technology, used more around the world than here is the USA, but we are switching over slowly (hear of NEXGEN? That is part of it) and it is based off of GPS, satellites, and ground reporting stations...the stations talk to the satellites.
Sorry if this is a bit boring, but it IS my life..(ugh)
There is no such thing as pointless internet arguments.
