Installing the Mazda comp (pumpkin) into the housing, what type of sealant would you recommend to use and does anyone know the torque numbers for the housing bolts?

thanks

Pat,

I just did one in my 1.8 a few weeks back, I used black rtv to seal it up, the torque numbers on the housing are not that high, 17-20 ft lbs

RTV is a common diff sealer for many race cars. Some of the short track guys with quick changes don't even use gaskets.

I learned a trick to rtv. after you run a small bead of sealant install the cover and bolts but only hand tighten. let sealant cure then torque down. this way it doesn't just push out and get in your dif/engine/whatever your using it on.

Owning a '57 harley you learn how to keep them from "marking their spot"
