Left front hub is only lasting one race weekend before it starts to have play. I have tried every hub out there, Jim's, NAPA, Timken, Mazda regular, Mazda heavy duty, nothing is any different. Any ideas?

Are you sure it is the hub that is causing the play and not another component? Or perhaps the installation is the root cause?
I can understand you getting a bad hub once, but everyone shouldn't be failing after 1 weekend.

don't think that installation is the problem, I have been working on these cars for many years, unless I am missing something or just and idiot (no comments please)....clean and put a little grease on the spindle, slide on the new hub, torque to spec. Missing anything?

Well that makes me feel better, at least I know that I am not the only one experiencing unusual wear on the hubs, and it probably isn't anything else unusual that I have missed.. Thanks Jim

Don't know. I had one failing when I got here.. Never got any worse all weekend, so I ran it, now the other side is equally as bad, so I need two. Craig went through 2-3 as did Erik and Lukes new car ate two. This as as bad as I have seen. No idea if others experienced similar results. I had to next day air six hubs in as we used all the ones we had on the trailer.
I have gone through 5 in 3 race weekends..............

Sorry, Late to the party here (had a death in our family). I'm not looking to create a "us v them" discussion, I just want to understand the scope of the problem without having to read the four multi-page-threads that have been brought to my attention. But....
Has anyone seen an increase in failures at NASA events as well?

Has anyone of the pointy end drivers compared data over the last 3-4 years? Maybe Drago/Steyn can shed some light on this for us. As you have been at the front of the pack for the last few years, look back at the data from the sprints and look at corner speed and max g's for each set of tires...how big of a leap in forces are being delt with. Have we found the threshold on the available hubs/bearings???

We have been going through hubs just like everyone else. yet with 14 cars at Road America, we only went through one hub.
No idea why, just stating the facts

I havent raced much this season 4 weekends 2 hubs... If your car is tight you are going to go through hubs faster IMO.

Bought and installed the new heavy duty Mazdaspeed hubs. Car is a 1.6 NA. Got maybe 6 solid hours track time on them (from a slow driver) and one hub failed already. No cracks or anything, just loose as a goose when testing the wheel play.

I'm at 2 hubs in 3 events this year. Every time I discover play, it's in the outside wheel for that track direction. The last one was 10 session, mostly in the rain. My thought was that the all the extra sliding and then grabbing was pounding the bearings extra hard.
