Lots of fast guys...rumor has it several cars below existing track record...

One super funny sounding exhaust.

Drago realized that this is not iRacing, no reset button, it was a real tire wall...Stearns did a Picasso job on the repair of the front bumper (no one will ever notice ;)  )

Danny drives like its raining in the dry...  We could see the side of his car in every corner..

Session 3 rained out.  Not sure if will get a dry 4th session.

low 2:17's even 2:16's in this weather is crazy fast......

I'm sure the funny sounding exhaust is probably some concoction from DDG......or maybe i'm reading not far enough into that comment....

Tire walls are one thing, it's the damn blue stuff that'll get you.

ok....back to making #00 pretty again.....

Carbonnel, Bolanos, Kycera and a couple others were really fast and got in the 16's - pretty damn amazing. Several in the low 17's. Blake and i worked together and got in the mid 17's. I guess we that would put us somewhere between 7 and 20. This field is just plain stupid deep!

Third session was rained out, but I still got in one lap before they black flagged me. Glad they did as I was sideways from T6 to T7. Apparently in the previous session someone had laid down some oil and htey had put quick-dry over the oil but the rain had washed it away.

In session 4 my car took a dump. Thought I had blown my lovely Rossini engine, but it idled perfectly, yet we were 20Hp down to the rest of the class. in the pits everyone crowded round to figure out what was going on. Compression test was excellent, but then thanks to Dan Tiley, Rob and Stu from BSI and many others offering their suggestions, we figured out that the throttle position sensor was not working. With that changed the car came to life. Unfortunately we will only be able to test tomorrow in the qualifying session.

Thanks to all those that came to help out. This is what makes out class great. We all want to win fair and square on the track, not in the garage.

Track is crazy fast and very fun. Could be one of my favorites. I need a little more time, but pretty content with where I am with the track time I have ad so far. I agree with what Danny said, we are in that P6-p20 area.  I think I can get to low 17's but not 16's. At least not tomorrow. Car was a small bump, not really a crash, total stupidity on drivers part. The car cut off and was coasting came to live, died twice, started coming back again. I was looking at gauges to determine what was going on, thought I was fine, looked up and I was not where I thought I was and bumped the tires. Bad enough doing at speed, but like this really stinks :) not bad, but I will need a fender on my new car when I get back.

Lots of guys close, many that were .5-1.0 faster were easy to stay with in the draft. Not sure as many are in 16's as Danny mentioned, I heard of only one. Tomorrow will tell the tale. This is going to be a crazy race. From p3-15 will be within .5 IMO

In Q2, the top 20 are now under the existing track record (which was a questionable record to begin with).

Blazing fast!

Well after thowing everything at my car during the morning sessions, we finally figured out the engine issue. The pre-tensioner spring on the camshaft timing belt pulley had come loose and caused the camshaft timing belt to jump 3 notches. With the help of Dan Tiley, Tom Fowler and the OPM crew we made the fix, and my wonderful Rossini engine came alive again. Thanks so much to all those that came to offer advice, including DDG who was right on the money!

Once we figured it out we bounced back from a 40th place in Q1 to a 4th place in Q2. Glad to be in the hunt again. Actually had a much better lap going and got skunked in the last two corners, so we know that my 02 is definitely competitive.

THE TOP 20 IN Q2 WERE WITHIN ONE SECOND. 2:16.5 - 2:17.5. This class is just amazing. Feel very privileged that I get to run in amongst these talented drivers.
