Free tires for first 50 SM Runoffs entrants

As was the case last year, Hoosier has a surplus of contingency tires that will allow them to provide a set of SM7s to up to 50 entries. From the letter sent to drivers today:
"Like last year, Hoosier is offering a set of SM7 tires to the first 50 Spec Miata entries into this year’s Runoffs. Drivers must be on site at the Runoffs, qualified in Spec Miata and participate in the official event (beginning Tuesday, Oct. 8) in Spec Miata to be eligible. Should more than 50 drivers enter the event, and one of the first 50 registered drivers withdraws for any reason, the next driver on the list will move into the top 50, etc. A driver may only claim one set of tires and there will be a handling fee of $15 per tire that needs to be paid to Hoosier upon receipt at the track.
More details will follow, but be sure to enter quickly on Wednesday to guarantee your spot in line."

Todd I just talked to Deanna--the option was not there for the first 20 minutes or so. You can go back in and add it.
Not sure what happened--it was there throughout testing, but managed to not be there when we went live. It's there now. Apologies.

Quick on the draw! I was in the first 5 entries. Up to 33 now.
Eric, thanks for the info about the test day option! I thought I was going crazy because I didn't notice the option when I registered but then saw it when I went to look again. I resubmitted. Hopefully I retain my place in line for the tires...

Place in line is based on registration timestamp, not update timestamp so you're all good.

So if local and qualified.. You could basically sign up, snag a set of tires and run the event for a few hundred bucks. Not a bad deal! Thanks Hoosier and SCCA!

You should go back and make sure for the test day. I had to do it twice to make it happen. The system worked fine in testing but dropped out when they went active. Drove the SCCA staff nuts.

If it's on your email confirmation, you're on the list. We (MotorsportReg) are getting it all squared away with the National office.

How do we claim our free tires?
Based on last year, when you get to the track go to the Hoosier tent. They will have a list of people eligable for the tires. They will give you the tires there.
Again based on last year, you will need to formally set up an account with Hoosier for any mounting/balancing/purchasing. This must be done prior to doing any work. You should do it befor you are in a rush.
Left coasters may do it differently than Hoosier MidWest
