Okay, here goes...
Limited mechanical background here so usually takes me doing it once for it to make sense to me. I had the differential carrier break on me. In the process of removing the diff, I've both read and been told that a good way to get the diff clear of the PPF is to remove the upper mushroom caps (ie. the two knurled caps on the top of the PPF) by driving them out with a BFH after loosening the two PPF bolts. That worked fine and I was able to swap out the carrier and now that I'm ready to put it back in, I'm assuming that I need to reinstall the spacer and the two knurled caps onto the PPF before I mount the diff and just wondering the best way to do that is. I can get the caps lined up with the knurled parts of the spacer, but getting the spacer all the way on so that it's snug up against the PPF and the caps are snug with the top of the PPF is problematic.
TLDR; I've removed the two PPF caps and spacer to get the diff out, what's the right way to get them back in?
Use small words, I'm a mechanical idiot
