Looks like they have over 50 orders from current cup teams already! Thats a great sign!.
Cut and pasted...
Hello all,
For those of you have ordered the 2016 MX-5 Cup car, thank you! We have surpassed 50 orders! For those of you who plan to order, we encourage you to do so soon in order to receive the new MX-5 Cup race car prior to the 2016 racing season.
For those who plan to compete in the 2016 Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup and are not a 2015 Battery Tender MX-5 Cup competitor, we encourage you to contact CherriLea Roduner, croduner@sccapro.com. By pre-paying four events/eight races or $3,996, you will be grouped within priority 2, just after the 2015 MX-5 Cup competitors in priority group 1.
We have not yet released the 2016 Battery Tender Mazda MX-5 Cup schedule as we are finalizing one last event (expect this to occur with two weeks). However, the events we have secured:
1. Mazda Raceway: April 28-May 1 with IMSA
2. We are very happy to announce once the contract gets signed - likely in a couple weeks.
3. Road America - June Sprints (more details TBA)
4. Canadian Tire Motorsport Park: July 7-10 with IMSA
5. VIR: August 18-21 with IMSA
6. Petit Le Mans, Road Atlanta: September 27- 30 with IMSA
Additional, but for non-championship points: Global Championship at Mazda Raceway - details TBA
Thank you again for your support,

Are all you guys getting a couple, renting not racing or some combo or back up?
These replace the older MX5 so there will be the same demand or better ?
J~
"Current team members" meaning SM or T4 or whatever class the MX5 was in ?
I guess my question is how many SM guys are jumping to this ?
J~
I am wondering how many cars they will be fielding at the pro races? If 50 cars are already sold and many others planning and or trying too arrange and fund multiple cars including myself will there be room on the grid?
Would a 50 car field be bad? What do you think the optimal number of starters would be to make the series a long term success?
I beleave these are all USA or at least North America bound cars.
