Hi,

What is the best method/technique to ensure that the intake and exhaust manifold are in optimum alignment to the head?

Cheers.

I think your pretty stuck with what the studs give you. The little play you may have after sliding either piece over would be a simple matter of measuring ahead of time and figuring if a few thousands makes a difference in any direction. Though I've never measured I would think the intake holes are slightly smaller and the exhaust holes are slightly bigger than the head holes/ports.

Throw another log on the fire.

By SCCA rule, studs other than OEM are permitted.

There is quite a lot of slop (with OEM studs), particularly in the exhaust. Intake not so much.  Much more than a few thou, but unlikely to be any sort of dyno adjustment!

Anyway, got it centred as best as I could last night.
