Just had a set of tires mounted at the track. One had about 10-12" strip of weight added, 2-3/4 oz. another had a 3 oz block added. At what point do you tell the guys, No? And have them pull the tire and try again.

 

Very interesting comment ^. If a tire is not seated correctly on a rim, it could take considerable weight to balance.

Question for those who have mounted lots of tires...in a situation like this, what is typically the issue? Wheel? Tire? or always a combination of both? And how critical is a dynamic VS static balance(sorry if my terms are not correct) for our situation?

Btw, these were SM7s mounted by the Hoosier rep. and they all look square on the wheels. Wheels should be good. No banging around on this set.
