48 SM's registered for the OVR Autumn Classic on October 10-11 at Mid Ohio. Bet we will have just as much fun, if not more than the Runoffs drivers with more track time and no engine tear downs. $450 gets you a qualifying session, 3 sprint races and a 1 hour enduro. This is the way SCCA club racing should be. Thanks to OVR for holding this race, it's one of my favorites.

we have averaged 30 to 40 sm's in our regional races for more than a year now. We always have our own run group and usually the first or second run group which makes an early drive home on Sunday.

Ok I just borrowed a traqmate to put in my car for this weekend and need a little help.

I was just wondering if someone can check the settings on it for me to make sure there right.

Also do you have to put both pro and club course settings into it or will it pick it up on its own ?

it will track club or pro without you doing anything different. It will even track when you go off, lol.

Saturday ran pretty clean, Sunday not as good,

I want to say congrats to Justin for his Win. I always enjoy racing Justin you can count on clean and fair.  There were some other outstanding moments. New Driver, Evan Pecore (who bought Kyle's car and being coached by Kyle) came to the track on his first weekend and ran P2 and P4 Saturday and Sunday. he also walked away with a new track record for the pro course. 141.691 Besting Tom Sagers record from last year.

 

At 58 years old I found my self fighting to survive with the 20 something crowd. Its discouraging, these guys can drink more then me, sleep less than me, and drive faster than me. But i had a good weekend and a good way to end the season with Happy thoughts.

 

We had our usual after hours bond fire, cookout. It was well attended and had a good time picking on each other watching videos.

 

Had a chance to meet Tom and Steve Scheifler, i know they were fighting some mechanical issues over the weekend.

 

We have 54 cars. This is likely how its going to be next year as we close in on the runoffs. My advise, sign up early for any event you want to attend as they have a hard cut off on the number of cars per group.

Just remember that 110 people volunteered there weekend so knuckle heads like us can play.

 

That is how many people volunteered and participated to put on that regional race.

How'd the 1.6 do at this year's Mid-O Majors?

Danny this weekend we seen the top 1.6 square off with the top 99 (majors winning car) in our region. And the 1.6 was on the bumper of the 99 at the checker. So demanding that the 1.6 needs lots of help just does not supported the results. We have also seen that same 1.6 beat the winning VVT car several times this year. The results just don't support the claim that the 1.6 cars are not competitive.

Frank, don't get me wrong, I'm not upset that the enduro was cancelled. Even this knucklehead could do the simple math at 2:30 in the afternoon to know that there was simple not enough time to fit the enduro in. Couldn't 1 out of the 110 volunteers figure that out too?

 

Like I said before what burns me is that they called 61 cars to the grid and then told us to leave. You mean they didn't know 10 minutes earlier that they were out of time.

Ralph, you heard me say this before. Brian probably has more hours on Mid-Ohio then the rest of the top ten combined. Tell me, what was the highest finishing 1.6 at any Great Lakes Majors this year? How did the other 1.6s at Mid-O do this weekend?

The results just don't support the claim that the 1.6 cars are not competitive.

 

They why are we trying to fix the car if this is the case?  This is one example, not a definitive answer for all tracks.
