My PCA region put on the first DE at Indy this year. The facility is outstanding, IMO the track not so much. However, lots of fun things to do in Indy. Expect a big price tag.

As I recall, they've made a few changes since the original F1 layout. I was there for the inaugural Indy Car GP weekend a couple years ago and it didn't look all that interesting even at those speeds, but a pack of screaming hornets might help.

I'm the one in the black 968 that passes the camera car at the beginning. The PCA is also looking at hosting a club race there next year but not sure if that is done or not. It does have a rhythm to it at least the corns 6,7,8. There should be some good passing opportunities.
This is parts of the original F1 track but they took out a couple of corners in the middle where now you have chicane, they also added the corners that bypass oval turn 1. This is closer to the GP course but there is a small change in that last set of corners.
Overall I liked the track, wouldn't do another DE there (bucket list track) but definitely would do a club race there.

Hopefully using the compression excel spreadsheet as the basis for determining odds.
In light of this and past experience maybe we should all have too submit our appeals letters in advance too help better calculate the odds.

If the conditions (supps) stay the same as they were at the PCA DE you had better bring:
* Lots of compressed air
*Good walking shoes
*European electrical adapters
and hotel rooms for you, your crew, family and anyone else that might want to stay overnight ...girl friend?? :nonono:In all fairness there was some off premise parking for motorhomes.
It would be hard to believe SCCA HQ would let stand some of these obvious shortfalls...but then again?

Drivers will be required to play a round of golf every other lap.
With one second off your lap time for every stroke under 90.... Eh, I'd still be at the back.

Not knowing much about Indy, I did a simple size comparison to Mid-Ohio.

I think we will be running the club course for the Mid O runoffs, including the bus stop.
