It’s SCCA voting season, with five of the 13 designated Areas electing a new member of the Board of Directors this year.

Board members serve a three-year term. Ballots were mailed to the addresses on record with the SCCA office for those in Areas with an upcoming election. Per SCCA policy, areas without contested elections will not receive ballots and be recorded as a 1-0 election.

Ballots may have begun hitting your mailboxes yesterday, October 15, but please give them at least a week to come through the mail.

Instructions are included with the ballot, but completed ballots should NOT be returned to the SCCA office. Instead, votes will be tallied by Mize Houser & Company. A postage paid return envelope is included with the ballot for your convenience.

If you feel you did not receive a ballot and should have, please contact SCCA Member Services at 800/770-2055. Again, please give time for those ballots to come through the mail before calling Member Services.

Ballots must be returned to Mize Houser & Company by November 15.



The Areas up for election are:

Area 1

Area 1 encompasses part of the Northeast Division, including the New England, New York and Northern New Jersey Region. Outgoing Director is Dick Patullo.

Area 5 encompasses the Central Division, and each Region contained within it.

Incumbent Area 5 Director Bruce Lindstand is running unopposed.



Area 7

Area 7 encompasses the Southwest Division, and each Region contained within it.

Incumbent Area 7 Director Dan Helman is running unopposed.



Area 8

Area 8 encompasses the Rocky Mountain Division, and each Region contained within it. Outgoing Director is Bill Kephart.

As the Chairman of the CRB, I want to thank the outgoing BoD members, Dick Patulo, Todd Butler, and Bill Kephart, for their outstanding contribution the SCCA, and Club Racing in particular.  Dick and Todd have both served as liaisons to the Club Racing Board and have been extremely helpful in lightening out load.  Bill was the Chairman of the BoD planning committee and was also very helpful in the CRB's efforts when the class consolidation issue was on the front burner.  All three of them will be missed by the CRB and by me personally.  Of the new candidates:  Bob Dowie is my mentor and former Chairman of the CRB,  Bruce Lindstrand is our other current BoD liaison.  Both are great guys.  Dan Helman is the Vice Chair of the BoD and runs the BoD meetings.  He is also a great asset to Club Racing.  I don't know the three candidates for the RM division or the two candidates in the NP division, but I am sure the members of those divisions will choose wisely.  Looking forward to working with the new Board.
