While I am a fan of the fee and what it can do for the class, I am not a fan of allowing the SCCA to administer it IN ANY WAY!!!!! When the last compliance fee was ended the additional funds collected were "lost" to SCCA accounting (many thousands of dollars)... While we did buy tools for regions, many of them are now missing, no longer in use or never got used because the tool was beyond the capability of some tech sheds. For some ares of the country it was welcome, I still see the tools and they even occasionally get used. If we move forward with this it would NEED TO BE IN WRITING that the SMAC administered the funds!!!!

I think we can make a pitch that the CRB administer the funds with advice from the SMAC.  Not sure if that would be approved.

Regional (divisional ?) racers should not be required to finance tech that only takes place at Majors. The cost should be borne by Majors entries only.

Before approving next years tech program, I would like to see a report on the entirety of this years. What events, what was inspected, what it cost, what it found. And a recomendation from SCCA staff on how to move the system forward.

From my recolection the CCC (John Bauer) attended about 8 Majors races and zero divisionals.

My list, feel free to add:

Homestead

NOLA

Atlanta

June Sprints/Road America

Mid Ohio

I do not recall ever seeing the CCC at any of the west coast Majors events this past year.

Regional (divisional ?) racers should not be required to finance tech that only takes place at Majors. The cost should be borne by Majors entries only.

Divisional SM race entrants thru Aug. 2015 1,996, plus more entrants through end of season.

Majors SM race entrants season 2015 792.

Someone posted the CCC was at 8 events for the 2015 Majors season.

Someone else suggested some amount of compliance fee should be returned to those torn down under certain conditions.

Walter, if you aren't willing to pay for the compliance fee then you should keep quite about tech shed failures and cheating.  If you are unwilling to pay your share then shut up.

Pat..... Is it really necessary to tell a fellow competitor and MazdaRacers member to "shut up"?

Mr. Ross, I paid the previous compliance fee when entering numerous regional races. Never was there tech at ANY of those events beyond weighing the top three. So I ask you, do you like to pay money to receive nothing in return?

Furthermore, I think it's unrealistic to expect an amateur motorsports club staffed by volunteers to devote hours of invasive tech in support of one class out of many, which is why I doubt you will find many posts where I suggest more tech. I've have long been an advocate of exploring sealed drivetrains and rules that return the class closer to OEM with the goal of reducing the need for invasive tech.

What is more expensive to administer, an invasive tech program or sealing program? I would rather go with sealing, and less but still random tech, to keep the sealing program honest. Including big penalties if a sealed motor is cheated up.

Thank You For The Input.

Did I miss the FasTrack on the upgrade for the 1.6?   EDIT: No answer required, just received an SCCA e-mail stating letter/info has been forwarded to CRB.
