2016 Maxxis Cup - Supermiata

Supermiata is proud to announce an expanded partnership with Maxxis Tires for 2016. The Maxxis RC-1 has been the official spec tire of the series since 2014, our first year. For 2016 we add new programs to entice racers  to join us for the most affordable racing in the southwest.

New driver program

Beginning with the May 14-15 event at Streets of Willow, all drivers new to Supermiata will receive a free set of Maxxis 225/45/15 RC-1 tires when they register and attend their 3rd complete race weekend. That's right, free tires just for showing up!

Legacy driver program

At the end of the year, we will award each of the 5 drivers with the most races completed with a free set of Maxxis 225/45/15 RC-1 tires. Race a lot, get some tires!

Winding Road Racing contingency

Many club racers are now familiar with the great contingency program WR offers for other racing organizations. We came up with a modified program just for Supermiata designed to "spread the love" around even better. We have a bucket full of $50 Winding Road Certificates to award to drivers.

Each podium spot, 1st, 2nd, 3rd will earn the same $50 certificate.

Drivers can win a maximum of one per day. Since we race twice a day, if the same driver earns a prize in the 2nd race, that prize kicks down to the next spot. This means the drivers that just miss the podium can earn prizes too.

I have one.  Is the "all Springfield dyno exhaust cars must start from the rear" rule still in effect?  Doesn't seem to ever have been a muffler rule in the rulebook.  That's odd.

What about  "cars under minimum weight are suspended one race, scales not available for checking weight beforehand" another rule that's not in the rulebook.  That one still in effect?

Still harassing drivers for not putting enough effort into qualifying in your "casual bbq" series?

You still kicking people out of the private facebook group for disagreeing with your conduct?

Oh, darn it, that's more than one question.

Edit:

Left out telling people that adding aero is required rather than optional like the rules say, I'm sure there's more I forgot to mention...

Depends on how well run it is.  NASA seems to do a better job of it.

Wow, if that doesn't get you the instigator award, I'm not sure what exactly you have to do to "win" it.

Rob has a special place in his heart for NASA, SCCA and Supermiata. All evil, mis-managed, unfair and no-fun at one point or another according to some forum or facebook post. He has a bit of ah, a reputation here in SoCal. So yah, I'll pass on the troll. Some folks just love to hate, what can I say.

We welcome everybody. Everyone has fun. We get a constant flow of compliments from racers and outsiders. Folks building and buying cars for the series. If the format looks like fun, come join us. If you still have questions that aren't answered in the big TrackHQ post or our Supermiata site, fire away.

Additions to the current program:

Superbucks

To enable our drivers to choose between discounts and Winding Road Racing or new Maxxis RC-1's to race on, we have instituted a "1st Bank of Supermiata". This will allow drivers to convert mutliple smaller awards in to on larger certificate to apply towards tires from Maxxis or gear from WRR.

The Supermiata facebook group will host a spreadsheet displaying all the awards each driver has earned and a tally so they can keep track.

$20 rebate per tire

Effective May 1st, 2016, all drivers that have registered for a Supermiata race during 2016 can apply for a rebate for any Maxxis 225/45/15 RC-1's purchased under their name. Drivers must email a copy of their purchase receipt to emilio@949racing.com  Receipts for other Maxxis tires, before May 1, 2016 or from drivers outside of the series will not be rebated.
