Race was a disaster. 3 lap race. 45 minutes for crew to clean it up and fix tire walls. My car luckily escaped unscathed, but I can't say the same some of my friends and others. When are drivers going to learn not to try and win the race on the first lap? Not leaving me with a good impression of SM so far...

I'm told we hit pit road under black flag around the 10 minute mark. They didn't actually throw the red to stop the clock for 5 more minutes. There were 10 minutes left when the red came out.

Tyler, it's soo much easier to read the rules when not involved within the race. Hope things go well for you all tomorrow.

 

I love working on my car, driving and watching Spec Miata racing, but this same crap (four wheels off and full bore back on track) over and over is disgusting. To me the only cure is, when four wheels are off the racing surface, come to a full stop and be directed back on track. Yep, I understand the issue of someone may get rubbed four wheels off, such is life. Take care of the issue off track after the race.  Maybe it's time to write a CRB letter.

From the videos I have seen inhave not seen anyone trying to win on lap 1... I saw mistakes on a wet track that caused some unlucky casualties... I'm sure that would never happen in NASA pte!!!!

I think there was 1 driver who got greedy that you can't see in the video, but he only took himself out. Although came inches from taking out Kohler. The rest of the carnage was just mistakes on a wet track unfortunately.

Yeah I had a front row seat to it from the inside of Kohler, will post the video when I get the time to upload. Kohler reacted just in time or he probably would have ended up in the tire wall as well.

I think that one incident cause a lot of checking up in the middle of a slick corner at the end of a long straight. Led to a lot of carnage behind. I've got good rear cam video as well.

This may be the case, but the prior statement from Mr Kohler just didn't sit well with me after the vids I saw... I am one of the few here that has raced my fair share of NASA pte and SM in both orgs and I have been hit hard in both classes, there is always someone willing to be a bozo in every class from gt1- srf-any class under the sun. While I applaud the efforts of the home built car, there are wrecks every week on lap on in lots of classes and racing on a wet track only compounds that problem. This is not a unique problem to only SM!!!!!!!

Good video but the pass move seemed to be completely clean but he did not account for crossing the dry line after completing the pass. So not sure this really qualifies as a guy trying to win on lap 1, have raced Charlie many times and typically a very clean driver...

Maybe you forgot the 2015 Runoffs race. Damn if he wasn't moved rearward 3 positions for similar driving when he took out two different cars at two different times. If I was to pull a move like the 98 car did when I was passing you it would be called aggressive driving at minimum. When you fall off the pedestal I hope you don't get hurt.
