Rob, in the start we see on the video above, there are many issues happening prior to the flag drop. Cars not close in formation, cars getting out of formation, cars hanging back for a run, and more. I would hope that after that catastrophe, the series takes the drivers into a classroom and schools them on how a start should happen. Not in the best interests of the series, the drivers, Mazda, sponsors, for this carnage to continue

I have spoken to Mazda's JD and his words exactly " Huge changes coming"

Will it take penalties that really hit home to curb some of the poor decision making? I imagine there are many within the series right now that are not happy so far. How to clean things up for everyone's sake should be priority #1.

Lectures about start procedure don't sound like "serious repercussions".  I doubt there will be long suspensions for gaps and moving out of line in that race.

some of the repercussions are these cars are not cheap to fix. They are designed really well, but that means they crumple well too.  Which means more parts and these parts are not laying around. If twenty cars are crashed, the penalty could be no parts to fix your car :( Or waiting for them to get here etc.

Which also means that the series winner might end up a guy who never sees the podium but finishes every race in a decent position! Don't think that's what anyone in the serries wants

Yep...and how many cars is Long Road building at the moment for those that dont have an option but to start over? Any in the pipeline? That aren't already ordered?

As of a month ago, when I was at LRR picking up our car, he has a steady flow of cars and orders through September. His assembly program is impressive and very efficient. I am sure he will be able to keep up with the demand

they do not crash well at all. very expensive on repairs
