It was a really productive weekend for Dean and I even after having our troubles with the tire barriers. 😕 Definitely worth the long haul out from AZ.
Thanks to all the advice from the locals, we kept trying different setups and watching the lines of the fast guys and our times improved every session.
In the end Dean put a lap only 0.3 seconds off Jordan's fast lap in the Sunday race.
My race on Sunday was shortened by losing 3rd gear right at the green flag. Big thanks to everyone for avoiding the rolling obstacle.

Congrats to Jordan Smart, he has been putting together a good program this year. He did well at Gingerman last week also. It was good to meet the "Powers" nice guys, came up to the camp fire and had a good time. Steve and his partner Dean were fast out of the box. The Locals as we are called did not have the weekend we were looking for. As i was about to make a pass for P2 Saturday the beginning of an electrical gremlin surfaced which i never did solve. So i have something else to diagnose.
I will post some of what we talked about regarding contact, in that thread, we had 3/4 of the SMAC at the BBQ.
Regarding contact, everyone was well behaved.

I was glad I to see Brian Murdock put in some good lap times in his new car. It was a shame he ran out of gas because he was running third almost the whole race.
I also want to thank Ralph for some set up advise.
As for my son I think he did a great job this weekend. He finished 17th in Sunday's race and got down to a 1:43.4 not bad for the first time being there and his first race ever. I also want to thank everyone around him for being courteous and also giving him good competition. It was a great experience for him and he had the time of his life.
It was nice to meet some new faces and can't wait to see you guys the next race.

I just want to say you guys put on a great show. Congrats to Jordan on the sweep and it was nice talking to you guys. Justin next time I will bring a pit bike for you so you don't have to Pedal a bike around. I think you put about 20 miles on that bike. I'm going to start calling you Justin Armstrong !

Bob, I would say your son had an exceptional first outing. Competitive and safe first time out and first time at a track in a large field. Nothing short of great.

Every weekend has its humorous and memorable moments. One of my favorites was right after Ralph Provitz pointed out to Jeff Luckritz that Jeff's analog tire pressure gauge wasn't quite reading accurately, Jeff paused for just a moment and then said to Ralph " I'm surprised your digital gauge only measures to 1 decimal place".
Speaking of Jeff, he had a nice weekend starting 15th after Q1 and working his way to 5th I believe by Sunday.

Yeah better looking days way in the rear view mirror. Speaking of mirrors though if I get through entire days without looking at a mirror, the world still looks darned good from the inside out. You should try it Jim.
Fun weekend at Mid-Ohio and It's nice to have a track on our schedule that doesn't demand new or nealy new tires. I ran tires from last year with several heat cycles on the right side of the car for all 4 sessions/races during the weekend. Never changed them and 1 of the lefts also from last year. May not have been the best of setups but at this track you can get away with it. That and I really like the 3 race start where you finished format.
OVR puts on great race weekends. The workers are competent and friendly, the events always seem to run without a hitch and the turnouts in our class Majors or divisional are very good.
I already congratulated Jordan after every session over the weekend and if he gets a good lap in qualifying at the Runoffs you can add him to the list of guys who will finish very well.

I had a great time at Mid-O over the weekend. Qual and 3 races with no damage and nothing fell off the car. Had some great battles with a group of guys about the same speed with some very clean driving.
I so glad that Todd finally got to meet me....... I pretty sure he was impressed as he got me a website. I found WWW.RandyFusi.XXX on the back of my car after a session LOL
Congrats to Jordan. He had it wired. Thanks to Adam Roberts for the help all weekend. Thanks to Jim for the use of all those tires........ooopps, I shouldn't say that.............
I learned something important. The Todaro bros do a nice BBQ. Thanks boys.
