Well, I was going to say that John Carter would sweep it. But, he already wrecked his brand new (one day old) car on test day...

Carter has to be one of the most consistent guys in the SM field. Always fighting with the top pack, super impressive what he has been able to pull off in his short SM career.

In the South East there is a new wave of great, humble, talented, classy young drivers coming up through the fields.
Michael Carter at 17 has been racing for 12 years, so he is not only fast, but he races with a very mature strategy, and Selin Rollan is the real deal too. On Saturday I was privileged to race just behind the two of them, and they were pushing each other, through T3, throughout the downhill esses, through 5 all the way to T6, and then from T7 to T10. To run that close to someone else, through the turns lap after lap takes talent, trust and supreme confidence.
Preston Pardus is another fine young man with exceptional talent and determination coming through the ranks. He is very close to their level, and will soon be taking his share of wins.
The thing that all these kids have in common, other than talent, are totally committed parents that are totally supportive of their kids racing ambition. Not just in finance, but also in attitude, mentoring and encouragement. To watch PAPA Rollan crying as his son took the win at NOLA was something that Kim and I will never forget.
Felt very proud to stand on the podium with guys in their teens and early 20's. I have set myself a goal of winning a Majors / Super Tour at the age of 60 (next year), but with the speed of these youngsters, this goal is looking like a long shot right now. But Selin will tell you how close I came to beating him in Race 2 yesterday.........., just sayin'

PMoney Pardus IS the real deal too! He is just such a nice guy, that he doesn't mind letting his buddies win for a little while before he starts winning everything.

Congratulations to Michael Carter and Selin Rollan on the wins, and the podium finishers as well. Such a great class with so much talent. And so much dang fun this weekend hanging out with all of the guys at Atlanta SpeedWerks. I got to meet some new racers: Mark Cash, Randi Fusi, John Carter, Jeremy Klein, and Spencer Rutherford as well as hang out with Caveman, Mike Cottrell, Topher Everett, Ted Cahall, Todd, and my brother from Montana Andy Devoto. Huge thanks to the hard work under this tent. Brian Zelner and Jim Oslander and others busted their butts all weekend and showed great attention to detail. And to Todd, Caveman, Cottrell, Topher, Cash, and others that willingly shared track and driving expertise specific to Road Atlanta and current conditions to make this mid pack rookie hack faster and more competitive.
Each weekend brings its own challenges, more for some than others, but this weekend, although not huge attendance, was great for me because I got to put faces with names and my car went into the trailer in reasonably the same condition it was when it came out. That is a victory and sweetens my best yet finishes in this crazy competitive class. Big thanks for all of yall (Klein, Rutherford, Devoto, Cottrell, and others) that pushed me around the track and raced mirror to mirror lap after lap without incident.
CAN'T WAIT FOR VIR NEXT MONTH!

What I LOVE about this photo from Road Atlanta showing the future of the class, is that if you add the ages of Michael Carter, Preston Pardus, and Selin Rollan, they equal my age!
FRIKKIN AWESOME and I could not be more proud of my Rossini Teammates
