The kid and I installed headers on his NA tonight. The O2 sensor wire is too short to reach the bung on the header. Can I simply splice in a little extra wire to make it reach? Thought I would check before I cut the wire...

You can cut and splice the car harness side of the connector via the solder/shrink wrap method. Some O2 sensor wires(the wire from the sensor itself to it's connector) is a special type of wire, maybe silver? It can't be soldered as it will just run off. I know the Denso replacements are like that, not sure about original equipment sensors. I don't like to use crimp splices or terminals( unless using an Oem or Deutsch and use the correct style crimp tool)

How ever you splice it, remember the ECU is comparing micro volts at a very low amperage. Even a slight resistance in the splice can change what the ECU sees. Which will effect how the car runs.
