With a decent handling car and decent tires, it is always flat..

Well .......... not always Jim, and I set the video start-point to spare you "your memory" of the incident that put me in the lead........

I'll stick with my statement and add a few words... with a decent handling car, decent( Hoosier) tires and DRY track... It is always flat. :)   The kink should never be taken lightly, there is a pucker factor event every lap as it should be.. But compared to shaved RA1s of yesteryear... The Hoosiers turn that pucker factor down at least by 50%.  Looking forward to a fun weekend.

Word is Danny hired a Seminole tribe shaman. This may be the most expensive race outside of runoffs I will ever attend. Danny is making me buy 5 sets of H2Os.

I blame Davison, uh I mean the ananymous person who posted that damn clock. If not for that Danny would have been blissfully unaware of his futility and never spent the 150k for the shaman. We may never see another dry race this year.

That is going to be small piece of John Carters legacy... No one else knows where it is or how to shut it off :) Danny will never win on that clock regardless and something tells me JC is laughing about that fact somewhere out there :)

Looking at the entry list alphabetically, the B's seem to have the strongest entry.  Gotta go with the killer B's.

Good luck to everyone this weekend.

FYI, we had three rear hub failures at Mid O a few weeks back.

Take the time to pull off the rotors to check the base of the hubs, especially at RA. Be proactive.

Frank...just so there is no confusion, please clarify "Rear hub failure"

The front "hubs" are essentially 1 piece but can fail at bearings or the actual hub(lose wheel if not caught)

Rears are a separate bearing and hub...either can fail. Just want to know what failed 3 times? You say base...which I can guess but I'd rather have you say what exactly...thanks!

bearings coming apart  and/or the hub cracking around 360 degrees such that the tire comes off or wobbles

Rear hub flanges, the part that the lug nuts press into. They fracture 360 deg right at the hub face and the hubcentric ring. Once it fails the only thing holding the wheel on is the brake caliper / rotor. If you load that side in a corner the rotor or the caliper bracket will fail and the wheel assembly will depart from the car. Generally causing a loss of control and a lot of sheet metal damage. Sometimes you can get lucky and the tire will just fly off and not touch the body work. Or on a bad day the tire packs under the car and jacks it into the air. From most we have seen the hub/wheel has been subjected to a hit in the past and not replaced. As preventive maintenance we replace them at the beginning of every season or after contact with anything in the rear tire

Ah $hit, why don't we run Hoosier A7's, everyone would feel like superman and we could change worn out/broken parts much more frequently. And of course we'd buy a bunch more tires and Hoosier would be some happy campers.

I had no intents of going to the track until Sat., but friend required parts therefore I went today. This afternoon test session it would seem Buras took control of one fast group and Hadleman took control of another fast group. The Browns and a couple other cars had their group doing their thing. Lap times, I don't have a clue but would guess laps were nothing close to record level, I could be wrong.

Guys and Amy, have fun qualifying on Friday.
