If we say 20 drivers have a chance at podium, and we're picking 3 podium finishers, there are 6,840 possible permutations!  I highly doubt anybody on here will correctly pick the top 3. 

 

Jim, we need more info on how you determine who is "closest to getting the actual podium order right"  Most picks in the correct podium spot?  Most picks that were on podium period, but not in the right spot?  Etc. 

 

 

Permutations possible picking 3 from the 88 driver set is 680,416.

I think it should be a rule that you have to enter your pick before Monday qualifying starts!

1) im obviously putting my money on the grandson of the 3 time Indy 500 champion, Spencer Rutherford
2) jim Drago coming in 2nd (as long as he's paying the tech guys as much as he has been)
3) Erik sterns will be rounding out the podium since he has to eventually finish a race without some kinda off

The people's champion should just make it in the top 10 at 10th

Yes! Or else nobody will pick until the last day and that's not as fun. Doing it beforehand adds to the challenge! Plus it keeps the pre-runoffs drama going!

Jim, here are some ideas, you choose!  PS, I agree voting should close prior to qualifying.

 

 

 

a - Pick three drivers, person with the most picks in the correct position wins (too challenging)

b - Pick three drivers, person with the most picks simply on the podium wins (maybe still too challenging)

c - Pick three drivers, sum their actual finishing positions, lowest number wins (don't pick a horse that's not reliable)

d -
5pts for getting champion pick correct
3pts for getting 2nd place pick correct
2pts for getting 3rd place pick correct
1pt for each pick that on podium, but incorrect position
Sum points, highest wins
