What is base timing supposed to be on a 99 motor and is it manually adjustable with the stock components? I was playing around with my light and a digital gauge hooked into the OBDII port last night and was wondering what numbers I should be seeing stock. I couldn't find anything in the FSM but only looked for a few minutes.

I have a 1.6L..so what do I know? However, I thought that the answer was NOT with unmodified stock parts. I thought that was the point of the new rule allowing a slotting of the stock part or purchase of the Mazdaspeed part.

Also, quite a few hits when searching for "timing wheel".
