That’s getting rather personal not to mention rude. But now that you’ve said it please explain, I can take it.Jesus, you're obtuse.
Edit: Ah, I get it, I missed the original sarcasm. I probably won’t be the only one, but yes, you got me. Still, the rude personal statement was maybe not called for, but good to be aware of your animus towards me.

But if you want more examples of obtuse, read the comments on the Rossini page. They bought his carefully crafted yet still transparent statement entirely.

If the competitor/engine builder don't agree with the tech decision it can be appealed, right? Maybe that will be pursued.
And Jim, big congrats on the double wins, especially yesterday where conditions were in-between? That's not easy with a few other great drivers breathing down your neck.

Thanks Tom. I agree all three that finished behind me I consider better wet drivers than myself. Mixed conditions to me is typically the hardest to drive in. I learned from Matt and Danny while they were ahead of me. I was able to add what they were doing better than I was and that really helped me finish off the good things I was doing in my laps. before i forgot, I went in on the plane and edited my track notes for cota and added all the wet info.
on the DQ, I "think" this falls under the tech czar deal, not appeal-able.

Skipped practice on Friday due to work. Had spent alot of time watching video, rolled in midnight Friday, got stickers on the car with about 4 minutes to spare and rolled to grid. Was intending on hanging onto TQs bumper but traffic goofed that up so i qualified on my own and managed to get to get to 11 on a clean but unspectacular lap.
Race 1, got a meh start and after it had all settled in a lap or two i spent the race in an awesome respectful fight with Marcos Vento for p10. One of those fights where we were making up time on each other in two sections. On the last lap i got him in t1 and he got me back in 15. Young man had respect and racecraft beyond his years. After my second random tech in as many HSTs we ran back to diagnose a brake line leak and some missing torque (AFR was rich after installing a new exhaust).
Next day was spent praying to the rain gods because nobody had SMWs in our paddock. Thankfully we lucked into a sketchy moist race. Got freight trained at the start but worked back up to p9 during an eventful opening 2 laps. Watched Haldeman eek away lap by lap... unfortunately never figured out t11, t15 and t20 in those conditions and so i took a nice Sunday drive minding my gap to p10.
First HST top 10s! Still a couple seconds to find on the big guys. Wasnt planning on road Atlanta but after that weekend im thinking about it now. Would be my last HST this year.

Danny’s dq for the intake was over turned. Well done by SCCA for admitting a mistake and correcting this when they found out a mistake had been made

Moving forward...is there now a written process to appeal the SM Compliance teams decisions? Several years ago according to John Bauer(when he still ran the show) all decisions were final...NO appeal process...because there were exhaustive phone calls to appeal some how then...all stone walled!

There is not, personally I don't think there should be either. Even in light of this mistake.

I'm glad for Danny that this in fact appears to be an honest mistake by the SM compliance team...but how did an "appeal" happen in a process that can not be appealed?? If this was a matter of "who knows who" and an obvious deviation from what has been in place for years...then SCCA better explain why the process was skirted around??? AND...moving forward they need to explain what will happen next time or quietly change the f--king process to reflect what they just did....
Jim...you can move this to the other thread you started!

Guestimation, Danny and or engine builder had some conversations with Mazda to gain traction and Mazda took it from there.
