---API NEWSFLASH---
Following a crack investigation by the SCCA Racing Security Administration the Portland Audobon Society issued the following release:
The Portland Audobon Society categorically denies all claims that RobIn First Class 103457 was a suicide bomber or had any involvement with the failure of Mr. Novak's #4 connecting rod which led to the total destruction of his engine. However, after extensive negotiations with the SCCA-RSA we have agreed to forward all donations received for the next thirty days to the Keith Novak Crate Motor Fund. This fund is a very worthy cause and is managed by the Mazdaspeed Benevolent Trust. We urge all racers everywhere to donate to this fund or at least give a kind word of encouragement to Mr. Novak the next time you see him.
In other news expect to see many SM racers at the track early tomorrow morning adjusting their hoods and headlight covers. Rumors are rampant that tomorrow the SCCA Nazi Compliance Department will be running a sting operation in Portland. One racer was overheard saying "this is just a pain in the ass!".
More coverage tomorrow

Ugly day. Who would have thought that a robin traveling around 107 mph can bend an 1/8" thick steel tow hook like that? Radiator screen, spectacularly holed. One radiator, questionable. One engine block, window paned. One fender that looks like bubble gum. One double double entry fee, spent. And a lot of work cleaning oil, and feathers out of the engine bay not to mention putting in another motor. You can't do much worse in 2 qual sessions. At least I can straighten the toe hook.

The way these weekends are run you should only be charged for a single dual entry. Hope you get it running before May!!!

I'll be calling Mazdaspeed tomorrow morning and I think I figured out what went wrong with the motor. It means more work but at least putting in a complete motor is quicker than building one from the ground up.
I don't think it was #4 either. I think it was #3, which took out #4 when the explosion happened. Thats why we could see one cap through the hole on the drivers side, and I could pull another cap most of the way out the hole on the passenger side.

Keith, get that motor going because I am now in the 33 club. Barely, but still in the club.
Congrats to all on today's start! Clean, safe, and no paint traded. Much, much better than yesterday's carnage. Great race except for Brian Summer's diff issue. Brian, I have some video that will help you completely kick my tail next race but it will cost you a courtesy pass. Spence, I kept watching you get closer and closer and believe if you had not gone off I would have seen nothing but your taillights. All good fun.

NOOOOOO! Bastard. You raised the bar, I must raise it lower...in a limbo fashion if that makes sense.

Tough weekend for me. Ruined a brand new tire, blew out the diff & went from 9th to 14th in the final 2 laps of both races. Ouch! Still had a blast though, and got my sign off from novice permit to Regional License. Threw down a 1:33.3 before the diff let go, so I'm getting there.
Thanks to everyone who helped me out over the weekend, especially the muscle to get the car on the trailer.

Anyone else hear the rumor Keith is going to get cited for killing birds in a public park? Anyone have a picture of keith? I think it's time we make a "Don't Be That Guy!" poster.
