pulling halfshaft out of differential

Two questions:

1: when the halfshaft is pulled out of the differential, is oil supposed to come out of the hole in the differential? None did on mine.

2: do you put antisieze or grease or oil on the spline that goes into the differential?

No oil should come out if the car if level side to side. The bottom of the fill hole is lower than the bottom of the axle seals.

 

Think of the diff as a giant blender...oil is everywhere while rotating :) Nothing needed!

 

NOW...the other side of the axle at the upright...antisieze or grease please!
