Who all gonna be there. Btw I spelled it the same way I read it from the SCCA email.
The list as of today. Big boy from Memphis tells me he has not yet decided whether he will come or not, but personally I think he is scared of getting his butt kicked by Texans.

Does anyone know the refund policy? I can't find it anywhere.
Greg,
Sign up and don't send a check (hardly anyone does). Pay on site. If for some reason you can't make it there's no penalty (at least there has not been for me in the past). Anyway looking forward to seeing you at your first SM race weekend. Won't be as fast as your BMW but the fun per dollar will sure be higher!

Perfect. Car should be ready soon, looks like I've got 1 test day to re-learn how to drive, should be... interesting.Greg,

It's pretty easy moving from the BMW to the Miata. Just forget about using the pedal in the middle and you should be just fine.Perfect. Car should be ready soon, looks like I've got 1 test day to re-learn how to drive, should be... interesting.

Looking forward to seeing you out there!

Craig, look forward to seeing you it's been a while! Mr Drago, hope to see you there too. You had some bad luck at the March TWS national so hope you can make the trip back and try it again. Looks like all the fast guys are showing up including 3 of the fastest 1.6 drivers in these parts.
I had family obligations and could not attend. So what where the results? Were the good 1.6 drivers able to keep up with the '99's in SCCA trim?

No. 99's dominated. Congrats to Agha on his 4th place finish yesterday. Keeps getting faster every time. Thanks to Ed for tweeking my setup to be competitive while riding on 6th heat cycle tires. Had to be smooth to keep the car under me.

Sat: McSpadden, Reynolds, Haldeman, Corley, Smith
Rushing completed 5 laps but lost his transmission.
Sun: Reynolds, McSpadden, Berry, Agha, Smith
New to SM Smith is pretty fast.
Congrats to teammate Chris Haldeman for a podium finish on Saturday and P2 qualifying on Sunday.
Also great weekend for Bill Agha, Aaron is right, he gets faster every weekend.
Thanks to Pat Ross my father, my buddy and sponsor. We had a great weekend together, smiles all around.
Thanks to John Phillips, my mentor and team leader. As you know I wouldn't be fighting to get onto the tail of the front group without your help and advice.
Look forward to the next race hopefully Toyo ships more tires soon, we are plumb out.

No. 99's dominated.
Same $hit at Road America. I have nothing against anyone or their cars but it's high time the SCCA SMAC/CRB looks at all the 2011 SCCA podium finishes & makes some adjustments. Seems to me that at the Runoffs venue each & every spec line Spec Miata should have an opportunity for a podium finish. Several good 1.6 have been at at Road America national races & the Runoffs the last two years with none on the podium. The same ol story from the SCCA of poorly preped 1.6 with so so drivers isn't the answer.
With production car classes the Runoffs are used for the measuring stick. A couple years ago a CRX handed the H production field it's a$$ at Road America. The car got IIRC 100 pounds. Then the next year the same car with a different driver handed out a bashing to the field at the first two national races & IIRC it got another 175 pounds before the Runoffs. Same $hit happened with last years H production Runoffs champion. BUT, when a bunch of 99's with a 94/97 mixed in walk the 1.6's at the Runoffs the SCCA seems to think that's all ok. The SCCA thinks it's ok because those of you with 1.6's that are capable sit back in your rocker & take it without demanding as a group that changes be made.
Come on 1.6'ers become a team to get some support that would allow podium finish for 1.6's at Road America. The SCCA doesn't seem to want to provide a cost effective measures of parity at Road America for the 1.6 so let's request the other spec lines be brought back to the 1.6. The cost of a different restrictor plate for Road America is what, maybe $50.00. Sure there's dyno time but that's done either way. Oh ya I understand using a different restrictor plate at Road America would be a different solution BUT in reality if the podium data were reviewed maybe other tracks would require that same different restrictor.
Yes, I have a brand new build 1.6 (first class other than motor & transmission) but my driving talent would not get me a regional podium or to the Runoffs. As one of our friends says "that crazy ol %@$&#.

P.S. Tell him when we're stacked up at 3 on the 1st lap he's gonna have to brake earlier, I'm not his brake marker.

Thanks for the 1.6 update.
I have a 99 and a 1.6. Raced the 99 on Saturday, qualified 3rd and finished 4th. Last lap of Saturday's race my windshield was busted by a rock thrown up from a lapper car. I had to race the 1.6 on Sunday, qualified 17th and finished 9th I believe. Both cars are prepared for national races with the 1.6 being down a few hp to a top car. Same driver, two different car's and very different results

Too bad Andy Rushing did not get to finish a race this weekend, he has one of the best 1.6's in the region and not too bad a driver either.

Gale, did you get caught in traffic for Sunday's qualifying or was your qual lap representative of the speed of your 1.6?I have a 99 and a 1.6. I believe he was utilizing R-888s during some of the sessions this weekend. I can't remember if it was his Sun qualifiy session or not.
R-888 are heavy and more of a handicap on a 1.6 versus a 99.

Ran on 888's all weekend except for Sundays race when I borrowed Andy's RA-1's. The 888's are heavy but either way the 1.6 was over 1 second slower per lap.
