Put in side net, check. get new rubber and wheels, check. go out on track and have fun. nope. car was over heating. the steam pipe was clogged. qauled ok, but slow. still learning the car and the brakes suck. to grabby.. I change the booster. that seemed to help. First race it seems I have yet t...

Well I could not remove the fill hole on the diff at the track. Finally I got if off and guess what. Not much juice. what the heck did MER do?? They ripped off a dying man as far as I can tell. The tires are old, not new. no juice in the diff, wrong juice in the trans, blown motor, accusump that did not function. What a frikkin dope I was to buy this car....

I think M_R used (used) parts. man.. I've pretty much changed everything. Got the clutch throwout bled, thanks to help from Bruce Pendelton. Gotta swap diff fluid as I'm sure they have not because it smelled bad when I took off the fill plug. May still have to alter the brake booster. It seems to grab a bit to aggressively. Chime in if you know wh...

So I got the new clutch, a zoom, and pp from v8 roadsters. Finally. New brake brackets on the way and hats. Put on the flywheel and clutch assm. Saturday. Could not align the motor mounts by myself so Dean came and helped Sunday for a couple of hours. Got that all buttoned up and the trans back on. We left it at that, w/o a start. I was beat for some reas...

We "think" We found it.

So, we remove the bell housing, which unfortunatley means you have to drop the motor a bit, then run the car and see what's what. Nothing appears broken. So, we remove the clutch PP. And run the car again. This time with the exhaust off because we were getting lazy. Vibration is gone. So it must be the PP. we hope. I waiting for the new and different...

things to do

next step is to remove the clutch pack and see if it's out of balance. That will slow me down some because I don't want to buy new stuff if the old is ok. So, I won't have purchased replacement parts yet. Does not look like I'll make the season opener, due to other obligations and no time to work on the car.

The vibration I have developed in the rotating mass is iether the clutch pack or the balancer. The balancer seems fine. We took off the trans and put the exhaust back on same issue. can't take the bell housing off with the eng. in place, so I can't check the clutch pack till then. We'll pull codes and restart and do an IR temp test on the cyl...

Pretty soon, I'll just rebuild the whole car. Man did the car builder goof up. No crankcase venting.Put a manual valve on the accusump now. Why revent the wheel with all that electric valve crap. Next issue is this vibration that has developed in the motor. At higher rpm's it's like sitting in a huge vibrator. maybe fun for some, but not me.....

More r and d for the #39 CAR. EXCESS CRANK CASE o.p. caused the dipstick to pop out spewing oil all over the pass. side of the motor. A small fire ensued. no worries. and no damage. The oil catch can was not vented. So we fixed that. Then I ran it out of gas because the racepak dash said I had more than half full. Then the fuel pump stopped working and coul...
