BTW, the hit to the wall at exit of T5 at Laguna was harder than I thought. The tub is toast.
I am looking for a 1.6 "roller" that already has a cage so I can bolt up my fast parts to it. Doesn't need to have drive train or good suspension. Spread the word! Thanks!!!

May have a donor car but no cage...if that's any interest?
I'll be lucky to be in 35...

If shipping works out, I may even have a diy cool suit by then.

Drove my car from Mtn View to Infineon to see TFB yesterday and biting at the bit to get on track now.

Not that I know of within an hour. There is Texas World Speedway in College Station and MotorSports Ranch Houston, in Angleton just south of Houston. Neither of those are within an hour of San Antonio though.Yeah, and the reception barracks im in right now dont have AC that works well. Looking forward to heading to my actual company in a day or two. In 3 weeks I start getting off post passes, any race tracks within an hour of Ft. Sam?

I personally had a really great weekend - until I didn't.
In Sunday's race, I spun in T5 coming down the hill while having a good battle with my fellow class of 2011 rookie Cliff S. Cliff has typically been faster than me. However, this was my first weekend running with a race exhaust so our cars were finally a little more comparable in terms of power.. Up till now, I have been running the stock exhaust and stock cat. The car felt quicker with the exhaust that TC Design fabbed for me. Sunday morning, Cliff had gone to MCE to get his car dyno'ed and Kevin wound up tuning it. He started with 109 HP and ended with ~115 HP. I was sure I would not be able to keep up with him...
This weekend, I also finally learned the magic of what proper tire pressures can do for the handling balance of the car. Part of that was probably me driving harder than in the past and getting all 4 tires up to temp/pressure (38+ psi) quicker than before. However, I think I was getting them hotter than I had in the past.
The video you see here I was keeping up close to Cliff and doing about 2:16s (which is a personal best for me). The last lap before my spin and damage the tires were feeling very slippery. I was thinking that I should back off a bit to let them cool down a bit but Cliff was right there and I wanted to keep close. I remember thinking "after T5, I'll back off a bit". I shoulda backed off then...
The car does not drive straight in the least bit. I'm a bit worried about what I broke/bent. Hopefully, it doesn't cost me too much to fix... I should be asleep right now but am stressing about it.
Anyway, Enjoy the viewing. Feel free to critique. I can use all the help I can get.

Sunday I decided to take it easy. I qualified 10th and was right behind Juan, he had shifting issues at the start and if I bumped him from the speed I had his precious bumper would probably been somewhere on the straight.

See everyone at Infineon
