If you add BS, I will do everything in my power to have my car ready. I talked with Randy Hale last week, he said if I brought mine, he would bring his !!! Just try to put BS in a different race group from SM.

are all SM classes (SM and SM2) running in the same group?
In the current preliminary schedule SM, SM2, and SSM make up Group 5. STU, STL and BS will be part of the alphabet soup in Group 1.

If you want to solve this and make everyone happy...
Two groups
ASM
Open to all drivers and legal SM cars
SM2
This is your regional championship, doesn't matter what year SM you have, if you consider yourself a regional driver, that's what you run. The NA driver who thinks they are getting beat by newer cars are getting beat by better prepped SM's or drivers, not years of cars. ( If they don't believe that at least two NA cars that are coming this year can easily win it all, (Buras or Blake)
This works easily, there will be pressure on national guys, pro drivers etc to NOT register for SM2 and ruining the regional championship. You wont have to qualify the drivers, the drivers themselves will pressure guys into doing the right thing, nor do any of the main players want to ruin the regional championship. I doubt any wold register for SM2 unless they were truly regional drivers.
You run all in the same race. Everyone is happy, everyone wins and you get the most entries and provide the best possible race.

Great Idea! Split Start? Not a big one just enough to keep the two groups seperated at the start.

I don't see why you couldn't unless some guys in SM2 want to see how well they would do overall?

Boss, I didn't sleep there. The Sprints are now long gone. Is the silence gag lifted? May I babble about the _._ again.

If the gag is lifted I may come to the ARRC to watch the _._'s do their thing. Yes, I beleive they can be on the podium at the ARRC.
gag is lifted, post away... No one will be rooting for a 1.6 to win more than me

Butch
So what do you think about my idea?
SM open for all legal SM cars (open Champion)
SM2 open for all legal SM cars with Regional drivers (regional champion)
All run together
