Thoughts on 2012 parity adjustments so far

Most have raced at least a few times under the new plates and weights. I realize we haven't raced at Road America.. But Sprints are coming up !
Seems like "good versions" of all cars, even the 2001+ have been competitive somewhere?
What are your opinions?

Saturday:
P1 Chris Price: 99
P2 Justin Hille: 1.6
P3 David Spencer: 1.6
P4 Chris Williams 95
P5 TJ Graven 1.6
Top four best race laptimes, all within .2 seconds of each other......
Sunday just a little shuffle
P1: Justin Hille 1.6
P2: Zach Silver 1.6
P3 Chris Price 99
P4 Matt Paderta 1.6
P5 Chris Williams 95
1.6s were the majority of cars at the event, however the new rule set seems to be very very close.....

I do like the idea of driver parity adjustments though - that would have helped me greatly!

All in all things look great.
If we can slow down individuall cars I would request a competition adjustments for the 29, 2, 7 and 58. They need to add 50 lbs and go to the 37mm plate.

The last race had the one 99 way faster. But he told me that he still had the old SCCA plate.
The 1.6 that ran 2nd and first, shifted about 300ft past our shift points,or not at all.
So I dont thnk that the data is valid yet.
I think that the 99 needs 25more #. I am building one now.
I hope that NASA and SCCA will at least pull plates, exhaust manifolds, and do a cranking compression check on the top 3 cars.
Never taking them apart hurts . Just checking one piece keeps more racers honest, IMHO.

I want to thank SCCA for making the adjustments. Took way too long,IMHO. We have been running the HP car with SCCA and the SM with NASA.

Most every race I have been they looked at plates, also been whistled ( cold cranking compression is a useless and unenforceable test) ... While I understand the intent, anyone with half a brain would not cheat the restrictor plate, the compression or anything that can be seen by removing the exhaust manifold IMO. I have had all of this stuff removed countless times, do so willingly every time as does everyone else I have ever seen. I think it makes a third of the people feel good ( the third that thought you were legal) The second third still thinks your cheating, ( just in a different location). The last third really don't care one way or another and just want to have fun. That has been a constant since I started racing and I think it will be a constant long after I am gone.
While I am sure what you mentioned has occurred or is occurring now, I really don't think anyone is pulling into impound with any of these three things out of compliance, but I could be wrong. I HAVE SAID THIS COUNTLESS TIMES, ALWAYS ON DEAF EARS. If we want to really "tech" this class, pull in the top three and three random cars at every race and tech them all the same and see what comes of it. The easier compliance checks mentioned above are more likely to catch people not expecting to remove the parts, this has nothing to do with integrity of front runner vs mid pack. Just the fact that most at the front have had all of this removed multiple times and if they were considering such a move, they would most likely be discouraged more than a guy who has run for three years and never removed any of it.

Texas. Dave an Clifton are working hard to make sure we are all legal. They come up with a new tech each weekend.

I will answer Jim's question this way, I don't think the rule change has hurt the 1.6.
