The very first sanctioned road race at The Ridge Motorsports Park, Shelton Washington is only 6 weeks away. This event is a SCCA Northwest Region and SCCA Oregon Region joint sanctioned event and will feature a SM/CSM dedicated run group (Group 4) in anticipation of a huge Miata field. With no conflicting ICSCC event, I suspect many Conference racers will enter this SCCA event. It may very well be the most heavily attended race of the year. 120 minutes of track time with a single double entry.

The Ridge is located half way between Portland and Seattle just minutes off I-5. Hopefully racers will come from California to experience the newest race track on the West Coast. Having just been there two weeks ago, the paddock area is greatly expanded and more than able to handle a huge field. Would be great to get a 40 car plus SM/CSM field. I wonder if someone will crack the 2:00 mark.

Even if you only do one event this year, the inaugural event at The Ridge is the one! So, who is definitely planning on attending? Both my son and I will be there in CSM with Toyo contingency.

I'll be there in SM. There's also a test and tune day on Friday. I'll be there, too.

Test and tune is only $125 for entrants. Not a bad deal. For some reason it won't let me register with my reserved car number though.

I think the 2:00 mark will be broken. Gary was able to run several 2:01's in my car with no draft, and my car is for sure lacking horsepower on the front runners.

I'll be up there, running SM and STU as always.

Don't have any data to share Bruce, but I will share a video from a few weeks ago. We were on crap tires so times hopefully will improve. Heading up the hill at the end of the straight should be a blast!
Maybe those who have not been there yet, can get an idea how much fun this is going to be.

Juan, the only road racing up here this weekend will be at The Ridge. It's a Double, so you'll see SMs racing on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Ridge is about 130 miles from Portland. 2:15-2:30 hour drive. Watch out for Washington State Police speed traps along I-5.

There's no W2W racing at PIR, ORP, and Pacific this weekend.

Google Earth now shows The Ridge, well the early stages of contstuction. The date shows it is Sept. 2011, a couple of months before it was paved. Plug the S/F coordinates into Google Earth ( 47.254713, -123.192491 ) and fly there.

FYI, regarding tire support at the track:

The Warren Secord Tire Factory (from Kent, WA) will be at the track this weekend for tire support. I called him up and he does not stock Toyo RA1s or Hoosier SM6 tires.
