Great race with a very strong field. Glad to put a face to some of these guys. Everyone raced clean and very hard. One of my favorite races so far. Now I need to prepare a little more for next time.

The race was very competitive, nobody was giving any space, I spun in keyhole on lap 1 or 2 trying an inside pass and was squeezed on the curb underbraking, and my car just didnt like it. That put me all the way back to 40th anbd knocked my front toe out of whack, I proceeded to run back from 40th to about 15th, before spinning in T1 and collecting Joey Jordin, who was most gracious in accepting myh appologies for also ending his race. The track had been oiled down from start to finish, as I counted at least 3 cars loosing oil onto the raceing surface. One car hit a tow truck on track...

I can only now think of what it could have been for me. It was an awesome week so far, Like to think those that helped me, My team mate Frank Todaro we stayed till dark each night scaling cars and working on things for the nxt day. Jet Hawthorne for a million tire changes on Wednesday practice day, AJ Roderick who has been a huge help the last 3 days getting car ready etc. Jeffy Labounty for fixing one of my cars that had some problems so that I could focus my attention on the racing. Jim Drago, for all his help getting me a motor with enough HP to compete at this level, and Last but not least Todd Lamb for all his coaching, data annylizing, and always keeping Todaro and I focused forward, and helped us develop out entire weeks strategy. could not have done it without any of those guys!

Just talked to Von C and he said he was not DQed and finished 6th. So I take it Nasa has an error as the PDF does not say he was Dqed either.

One week to go and nobody is talking smack. Let's go people have some fun and pimp your friends and bash your adversaries.

TEXAS is going to WhhUPPP some ass. If they get togther and play nice they could shut out the home team from the front 3 rows.

Is now an OK time to bump the original post?

How many people got taken out by Texas Pride this time? :)

I had a busy weekend wrenching and getting some bad luck on the draw for the tech barn. I did get a chance to meet many of the guys from the forum , but missed many more. if I recall the first 18 to20 cars were sperated by less than a second. Make a note.... We went the entire event with no rain.

As Kyle posted, we worked hard at it but we did not get it done this weekend. Congrats Yiannis Alex and Greg, I raced ageist all of them this year and all were consistently good.

Always good to see Charbs and Alex and Jeff, sorry we did not get more time to hang.

I want to thank Todd Lamb, and Kyle for trying to teach me a few things, but you know what they say, you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

I hope all make it home safely.

Not a DQ, a reposition for a pass under yellow... I heard a rumor about it in the tech shed but dont know any of the details. Same sort of think happened to Alex last year, both unfortunate. I'll get more info in the moring.

Today was a great capper to a wonderful Championship event for me. I got to meet a bunch of new guys I've only seen on this site and meet-up with those who I met last year who now I call friends. Regardless what people say about "those crazy spec piñata drivers”, after spending time on the track with this field further cements in my mind that SM pilots are the best of the best.

NASA added a few in-race reporters, I was chosen to give my perspective of how the race was unfolding if there was a FCY. After I spun myself from somewhere around P29, I fell to DFL (P41). I was pushing like hale, passed P40 & was closing in on P39 when I hear this voice in my ear asking how things are going just as I entered the China Beach / Madness complex… Knowing this was live on SpeedcastTV I knew I had to give an answer right away so I did the best I could considering how busy I was. I hope I didn’t sound too much like a dope.

I need to thank a few folks: Kyle Webb (loaner battery & caveman attitude), Andrew Von (perspective & humor), Ed Gilfus & Taylor Ferranti (support & friendship), Jay North (draft-mate #1), Gale Corley (draft-mate #2), Ernie Jr. (draft-mate #3), Mike Collins (knowledge & experience) and to everyone who attended this year.

Never once did I hear a complaint about parity and it got an exclamation point with each type being represented in the top four.

Great racing throughout the field so I wish I saw more smiling faces in impound. Every position had hard close racing and a more carnage than I like. Speaking of carnage, here are the last 45secs of the second-to-the-last lap from my roof top cam (sorry for the smudge on the lens, lots of oil was dropped). I finished on track P23.

Did my diff leak ruin your video John? :spin: I was just doing my part to eradicate the West Nile Virus outbreak in central Ohio. Fun weekend, met lots of great people -- great running with you! With regards to that incident, I received a love tap exiting the carousel and spun right in front of everyone, setting off the fiasco. Collected Ernie Jr. (who was fast as heck this weekend). Congrats to Yannis (butchered the spelling, sorry), Alex and Greg (and Chris Williams in 4th).

A possible pass under yellow yet the driver was not questioned and was instead moved to last place? I hope there is more to the story then that. Did he pass like 40 cars through the grass under yellow or something?

Like I said, I'll get more info but this sort of infraction is a reposition to the rear of the field per the CCR.

This was my first time racing nationals and at Mid Ohio. I had such an amazing time met some great people had some awesome racing. I started 25th in the championship race and slowly worked my way through the field. Learned a lot from Andrew Von Charbonneau after he got shuffled back a couple positions behind me from an off at thunder valley. Following him after he passed me dropped a half a second on my lap times. On the 2nd restart I started P19 and got a great jump with Kyle Webb, he went to the inside and I went to the outside on the back straight, me passing 3 cars and putting me into P16. Then the unfortunate event happened when Kyle lost control in Turn 1 and I had no where to go. First crash ever, its a very FML experience. After watching the video I might have been able to try and go underneath him but it might have caused me to spin as well. At least there would have been no contact. It was a bummer but thats how racing is, My car has bent upper and lower control arms, shock, tie rod, and I am hoping the subframe is still straight. I hope Kyle's car will be okay, his dammage seemed a lot worse. Overall had a great time my fast race lap was just over a second off of the leaders, looking foward to Miller next year.

For those who where reading about (California Kyle's) misfortune it only got worse in the race. NASA black flagged him for a stop and go only to tell him that they thought he was a different red car that was putting down oil. I really hope he gets some sort of refund because to travel 2500 miles, replace two motors in two nights and then to be taken out by a blind mistake by the race officials is just heart breaking.
