My guess is it would not be any huge disadvantage...especially on a shorter/slower more technical track. At The NASA runoffs last year, there was on topless  E30 which did very well...not sure if this translates! But I assume you would have to wear arm restraints?

We run them up here once in awhile at Waterford hills. It is low speed track and we thought keeping the weight low -- 40 lbs would help.. I can't tell the difference.. You have to use arm restraints. They take about five minutes to get used to.
