I signed up for Saturday. I meet all their requirements so I should get it, I was Johnny on the spot this morning.

I just signed up. They said if they have any openings they will take other drivers first come, first served. You don't have to pay in advance so it's worth the time just to fill out their registration form. Being here in Austin makes this easy for me.Are any of the Sm guys going to this?

I was also Johnny on the spot... But I have not run with them for 3 years so I'm excluded unless Rick takes pity on me. I sent a pathetic email to him pleading for clemency but I don't hold out much hope

Get all the track time you can Wisler! Remember those less fortunate who have the same data system as you.... Just saying.
I'm amused to hear that Drago and Berry might be placed in MVP's beginner group. Worth paying money to watch that.
I kinda wish we all were going to have to learn the track at once just before SCCA just to see how we all fare on a level playing field. But I admit that if I can arrange time on track prior I will jump at it and not think twice!

Go figure, they placed me in the advanced group. I guess they just figured he was just a flash in the pan!!!!!
seriously I think it just depended on what spots were open when you signed up. that event sold out in a matter of hrs.

I can do that. I have an AIM system and video, so I should be able to gather some decent video.Brian

Everything is booked or 4-5 night min with jacked up rates. Flights are also pricey and scarce. Who picked the date?

Has anyone tried to book a room in Austin for the race? Same weekend as sxsw festival(3/8-3/17).

March is tradition for the Double National. That weekend was the best option avaiable, other weekends were worse.
Check for hotels in Buda, Kyle, and Bastrop. All are within 30 minutes of the track, and San Marcos is an other 15 minutes past Buda.
Or Seguin, which is on the Tollway, and only about 20 minutes away at the posted 85 mph speed limit.
