Lets get down to business.....who won the test day?

 

 

Also other then me wining in a some small way on test day, I have heard stories of a guy that was thought to have fogotten how to drive was pretty much kicking ass on test day, and was right up on the wheel straight off the hauler

The first Spec Miata race of the June Sprints belongs to Justin Elder at the checkered flag.         
 

To bad a guy can't view from the T5 stands what goes on from the  Kink through T12.

All Spec Miatas to impound.     

The combatants can tell their version as to what went on.  Lots of man drama to come.

 

 

Didn't like todays results, tomorow should be really intense.

Sucks to be leading the June Sprints with 3 corners to go and be taken out by two cars going into T12 backwards.

PS Mike Collins:- You win on the "over" especially if you take into consideration my hand gestures while parked in the Kitty Litter in T12!!!!

Congratulations to Justin Elder! What a weekend for him so far. We delivered his new car to the track on Thursday! He turned his first laps on Thursday afternoon and wins the June Sprints on Saturday! How awesome is that? Sincere congratulations, that is a big win!

 

Rounding out the podium was good friend Eric Stearns and Chris Haldeman. 

 

I got wide in 5 and got into Tom Brown getting back on the track , My apologies! 

 

We get to do this again tomorrow

 

I had battery shift during the race and it grounded out the electrical system and killed car in the corners, so I had to pull off

I miss you too Dave. My crystal ball this past week recommended a change in plans.  Made a last minute trip to Buffalo to visit my Dad.  Happy Father's day to all the Dad's out there and hope everyone has a fun race today.

Congrats to Justin Elder!....Amazing, First Time! Also the rest of the Podium were both good friends, Erik Stearns and Chris Haldeman!
Really hard fought race. The drivers at the front that I was around are all talented and aggressive. I will have to remind myself these battles are the Fun part, and they do not always go in your favor. I think Danny and Voytek may agree.
The car is fixed, and I am looking forward to buckling up for another battle today!

Thanks everyone for the kudos. It's great fun finally being able to run at the front with such tough competition. I've been racing Miatas since before there was a SM class,(late 90s in the Motorola Cup) and this is surely my biggest win. Ive been running the Sprints in some type of car every year since 1998, so it's been a long time coming and this is a major life event for me. I definitely felt bad abandoning my 1.6 this year, but we had got everything we could out of it and knew it wasn't going to be enough to compete at the front of these big races.

In the race I had a great run, I was always at the tail of the lead pack, and one by one watched the cars in front of me making mistakes, some small, some big, and took advantage each time. I will have to say I was surprised to see the dust settle out of Canada on the last lap and find myself in second with a good run on Haldeman coming through 13. He gave me just enough racing room to get by, and that was it.

Thanks to the guys at East Street for building a fast car. Also big thanks to Troy Benner for taking the car and making it even faster through the course of the weekend. Big thanks to my dad, we've been racing together since I was 14. My dad was injured a few weeks ago and couldn't race this weekend, but I'm so happy both he and my son were here to see the win. A great Father's Day weekend. My dad is hoping he will be back behind the wheel in August.

I love this track. Here's to another great race today!
