Check out the Longacre setup, the accuracy isn't overly relevant since it's one laser for all 4 corners at the same time.

I don't use a laser level to set up the scale pads. A plain old 6 ft carpenters bubble level.

Coach, so if I read you correctly, your saying that you bought leading edge laser not knowing the accuracy of the plane the laser throws out. Did you ever check the lasers capability after your setup, with another process? I did notice LongAcre suggests to not use the laser leveler outdoors in the sun light.
How about a little story of another LongAcre product. 15 x 15 scales advertised to be flat within .010 of an inch that I bought. I measured one pad flatness and found to be outside their flatness by another .015 to .030 inches. Called them with the numbers and they asked me to measure the other three scale pads. Similar results. I'd call that a manufacturing process out of control. This is not sour grapes, it's facts and they made good on their product.

Yup, I forgot, you stretch the 6 foot carpenters bubble level on a diagonal from scale pad to scale pad.
This is all in fun. It would be fun to check your scale pads with another process.
BUT, you do use a laser level for toe, correct. What is the laser level accuracy and repeatablity.

All this talk about the accuracy of a water level...last time I checked, the earth is still round, go figure
Congrats to the new names at the top this weekend...and the old names that were right there!

Wonderful fun at Road America this weekend. First time at RA with an SM. We bought a 1.6 from a individual in the midwest in an effort to have some fun in this class. So far - mission accomplished! Great class, great friends, great racing.
We now know that the car had a bad brake master cylinder this weekend. Brake bias would change from front to rear during the braking zones. I was perplexed - plenty of rear bias on initial braking then massive front bias on turn in. Oh well, at least we now know the culprit.
In qual we didn't have any dance partners. No one wanted to team with a 1.6 (i don't blame 'em!). So disappointing start in P16 without a draft. Great fun in the race moving up a few spots (following Todd) before the '99s eventually swallowed us up slowly lap by lap. P12 finish and great fun.
Met some great folks - thanks for your kind words. Really bummed for Danny and his misfortune this weekend.
Quick rough edit of some sat race vid below for those not able to make it:

Great video Ben.
I want to apologize for our side to side contact in Canada corner at the end of the video. My intent was to give you plenty of racing room but i grabbed a little too much curb on the inside that bounced me out and into you.
Was looking for you on Sunday but didn't see you around.

Wait a min. I have paddocked with you, change that "I" to "we" as Ricky and York are working the smart end of the level, while you are standing behind your lemon aid stand thing.

I realize this is just fun and ball busting... but I don't want to give mis information either..
first I level each scale head and pad..
once all four scale heads and leveling pads are level I use a 6 ft level to make sure all the scales are level with each other, both fronts, both rears, than both diagonals
I don't use laser level for toe, I use toe plates and tape measures.
I use a laser level instead of strings for thrust and steering angle ( straight spoke), it also doubles as a camber gauge. I prefer the accuracy of the laser line than a string than can sag etc. Different strokes for different folks, also about 10x faster IMO

Ben - great driving in that video - smooth and perfect execution, nailing the apexes every time. Really enjoyed watching it
PS - you have a really strong 1.6, you were running down some very strong '99 motors that I race against and you had something for them alright.

I was driving the yellow #68 car when I did that. (Seriously dude, you had the nerve to bring that to a national?!)
Todd - that car has been VERY strong for sometime now - definitely the strongest one I have seen on the track.

When play is clicked the screen message is, "This video is not unavailable." The screen looks like an ultra sound scanning for flatness.
Is there another place to find this video?
Maybe he blocked only you?
