Rose Cup Races

June 14 - 15 - 16, 2013

Portland International Raceway

The Rose Cup Races features three days of premier auto racing excitement, June 14 through June 16, at Portland International Raceway (located in beautiful Portland, Oregon). This race has been popular with West Coast racing enthusiasts for five decades and features more than 400 SCCA and amateur drivers in more than 25 different classes of race cars.

Last year's Rose Cup had one of the largest fields in years. The entry list is expected to grow even more this year. The new format of the Rose Cup gives more drivers an opportunity to win, not just the Rose Cup but one of the 4 race groups within the overall Race.

In addition to the Rose Cup Race there will be drivers from all over the country participating in the Pirelli GT3 Cup Trophy USA West Series and vying for The President's Cup. This year's Festival Trophy Race will showcase the very competitive Spec Miatas, one of the largest classes within the SCCA.

The Rose Cup Race is favoring Spec Miata once again this year!  Other than the ground pounders and GT3s, We have the premier race (Festival Trophy)!!  And the schedule is nice an tight to allow visitors an early start home!!!

car clubs and cruise-in.

1000s of spectators

Really big field

Great Track (for those who can figure it out :))

Reserved Paddock space (South Paddock for spectator and sponsor interaction)

And maybe, just maybe a BBQ.

Friends Noth and South, you really owe it to yourself to come visit the second oldest race in the nation at least once.

I'm trying to work a few "in's" with local businesses to get contegency sponsors for the Festival Trophy race. I'm hoping to make something work!

To the out-of-towners, the Rose Cup race is "The Big One" that you have to compete in. There's nothing like it, feels like you're racing on a pro weekend. Add to that the roughly 10,000 spectators that roll through across 3 days.

Since we're on the subject of reserved paddock space, we're taking orders for space now.  Please reply on this thread.

Let us know:

How many mouths you have to feed (Saturday bbq)

If you plan to bring an enclosed trailer (and size)

*Sorry but Motorhomes will need to go in the grass

If you want to be next to (or far away from) someone :)

Note: special arrangements need to be made paddock anyhwere other than the SM Paddock -- I've already had one request, which is perfectly fine.  Space is tight, but we have the entire space next to the snackbar, so we can be creative on how we arrange everything.

Two for food.  Yes on enclosed and 44' (huge).  Two cars.  In the SM paddock.  Need access to either side door (r.h. side) or rear door.  Will not put cars in trailer overnight.

2 Cars (Not sure if the 2nd one will be there or not, but will know closer to the event) and should not need a space for a support vehicle as long as I'm near Dani/Robert.

Everyone getting excited?  2 weeks prior and we already have a big field!!!  Who's on the fence?  Who needs tires?

Oregon region has put a substantial amount of effort into making this the best Rose Cup Races ever, starting with reserved paddock spaces for SM.  I'll publish a map by next weekend.

I know there are a couple folks that will be visiting us to talk about their interest in SM.  let's make a special effort to make their visit meaningful.  I remember the first time I talked to each and every one of you, and you all ended up racing anyway :)

Everyone getting excited?

HA!

When is that 1 minute warning gonna come!

The water temp is creeping up, my hand is twitching on the shift knob.

There are brakes to smoke and tires to melt!

Lets get on with this thing!

:panic:

been too long
