Probably Ate Super Blue brake fluid. After all they had to pull it from the market since so many were confusing it with windshield wiper fluid. Now we know where it has all gone.are you putting some kind of lubricant in the windshield washer reservoir?

Thanks, guys. We had 36 ASedans, not quite the SM field, but we had just as many cylinders on the track as you did. Two thrown out for modified carburetors, not that you guys would even know what those are. One bounced for non-compliant compression ratio. Heinricy, McDermid and Wheeler on the podium, 18 Runoffs wins between us.

p.s. I no longer fear the kink. Here is an in-car following shot when I went four off, into the puddles at about 120.

I know and work on Tom Sloe's car. As I was not in tech, I only know what I have seen from when I was over at Tom's shop and I'm not sure how what to think of it all.
Either way, congrats on the podium, it is a tough class to compete in.

So cool to see everyone, very glad to be back racing.
I had a mid 28 second car, tested there all weekend the week before. Due to a black flag, rain and the the car not starting I had 4 laps of dry qualifying total, P2 still on the grid.
In the race, just about as soon as I got clear of them to lead, someone oiled down the track and I went 4 off exit T9 while leading, airborne even. Bent LF shock, bent the control arm which lowered the car 1/2" and changed the camber to -7. From there on I was a sitting duck because the brakes were locking up on the LF wheel running just on the inside. Also, it did not turn so well lol.
Still, Matt gave me a bone by spinning in the same oil at Canada a lap later while he was out front and I was P2. His was worse than mine as I kept it going less a spin. I barely missed him, zero traction in the oil he spun in until the last second before hitting him. Cost me two spots so now back to third.
A high 29 lap is all I could do with the car at that point but it was fast enough. I caught and passed the top two cars after a battle with Prather who capitalized on the oil and us racing each other to catch us. Based on splits (16 or so seconds back to Matt who was the fastest on track) and how few laps were left, 3, I went into cruise mode. But then, the shifter broke with 2.5 to go and that was that....
Got to love racing luck....
Next year and in more Mazda powered classes!

Joey's dad posted a bit about Joey's start in 2010. Joey's first racing was in a Leomos car which was upgraded to his current Spec Miata. Joey and his sister ran the Lomons car. Next was at the Runoffs, here comes Joey, errr, there goes Joey. I did pick up at the Mazda dinner that father Joe Dad and uncle Jim have a history of road racing.

I wasn't at the dinner but the list of thing on Joe (dad) Jordan signature gave me the same impression.

Todd - thanks for posting this
as much as I love the mo, mo, give me some mo footage, I do so hate the footage of my 02 getting pulverized!!!
PS I am sure that Momo will want the hi res footage of that sequence. If I was them it would be on my web banner already!!!

I'm with Danny - really like the different views. Someone on test day had a camera hanging off the side of the car. Let's see that footage!

I'm sure we can work out a deal for the footage, maybe a barter deal with MOMO

And on test day Nick Leverone had a GoPro mounted high on a stalk on top of his roof. Said it was excellent for observing hitting or missing apexes!

Here's my in-car and bumper cam. Nothing real enlightening here, but a few relatively exciting moments. Wish I had started the race from the inside lane, I'm not sure what happened on the outside but we were parked. Had a good time though working my way up, lots of great racing. Everyone I battled with drove hard but clean. I made a mistake jumping out to pass Alex with 2 to go between 3 and 5, I should have stayed in line and based on our closing rate we might have just caught the lead pack somewhere on the last lap.
I can't imagine a race in any other class where I could have had more fun than I did last Friday. It was a great week of racing and that's what it's all about.
1:50 =T7 incident (also replayed from bumper cam)
8:20-end of video = lots mo momo
14:00 = close call with runaway tire

Oh my I just watched the race. Great action and congrats to all that made it into the top 10 especially those that came from way back. Some great drives. Surprised there hasn't been any comment on the incident with Mr. Charbonneau. That was really unfortunate for him.
Seems like a good time to pass out some well deserved thank-you's. My season has been a tough one. When measured by the "Dave Wheeler racing is supposed to be fun scale" calculated as: fun / (time + cost + B.S.) = fun quotient it gets a fairly low grade. On the other hand I'd have to give the help an "A". Speaking of Mr. Wheeler, thank you Dave for the often just in time parts supply and for getting my '95 car repaired in the nick of time for Mid-Ohio earlier this year. Thanks also to Jim Drago and his crew for a very good engine and for solving some long standing and hard to find issues with my '00 car. To Tom Fowler and his guys who adopted me a month ago at the last Road America race before the Runoffs after a mishap in qualifying. Looking back that was quite a feat to get that car to the grid only 2 hours after the right side of the car was rearranged by a tire wall. Thanks also to Tom and Jonathan for the setup help during Runoffs week. Lastly to Justin Wylde who is local to me (closer than I ever knew) and is getting an engine back in the '95.
The support this year has been first class for sure.
